The Art Director, located at our HQ in sunny San Diego will manage professional graphic design work for printed materials, web graphics, ads, apparel, presentations, product, product packaging, catalogs, and tradeshow production. Leads the OGIO graphics team by organizing project calendar, receives incoming projects from all departments and sets reasonable deadlines. Guides team in creation of all materials by providing clear goals, direction and feedback to enable the production of the highest quality print and digital designs that fit the brand and effectively communicate.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for project format, artwork, typography, layout, size and job completion.
• Consults with management and staff to identify graphic needs, budget constraints, and reasonable deadlines for the project; serves as a liaison between management and graphics team as well as printers/publishers.
• In charge of every phase of the design process from concept (sketches, storyboards) to completion (digital output and/or printing).
• Manipulates and color corrects photography for use in print and web.
• Develop and oversee design templates for team to create production ready artwork. In charge of design and completion of the annual catalogs for all product collections.
• In charge of the creation and design of ads, marketing/business collateral, web graphics and email blasts, apparel (tee-shirts, hats, etc.), graphic/branding elements and colors/patterns for product.
• In charge of creation and production of in-store merchandising.
• In charge of coordinating printing of projects and completes project press checks.
• In charge of creation of sales sheets and presentations for sales team and executive team. In charge of social media marketing campaigns for Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
• Storyboard and direct product and brand videos.
• Perform yearly reviews for each employee in the department as well as keep track of and approve employee PTO and approve expenses for the department.
• Maintain brand consistency.
• Shoot all individual and collection product studio shots.
• In charge of and shoot location photos with Senior Graphic Designer for catalog and other materials.
• Work with e-comm director to update graphics and backend of website (where able) and assist with building and sending email campaigns, retargeting ads, social media ads Ideates full marketing concepts and writes copy for catalog, website, ads, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS
• BA/BFA in graphic design, illustration or fine arts preferred or equivalent and eight years of experience in graphic art, production and design.
• Proficient in graphic design programs including; Adobe CC (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) as well as Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
• Ability to create and produce graphic materials using a range of media, techniques and equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to work as a team player.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to get best work out of the team. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Deadline oriented and able to work well in fast paced environment.
• Ability to conceptualize ideas and translate into print or web ready art via computer. Ability to create design proofs and check press proofs.
• Ability to stand for and discuss design concepts and ideas.
