Job Description

Global lifestyle apparel company is seeking an experienced "Senior Director or VP of Supply Chain and Distribution" in downtown Los Angeles, CA to handle and oversee all aspects of apparel domestic and import distribution, budgets, KPIs, technology - someone who can provide scalable Supply Chain operations and Distribution strategies. This dynamic role sits on the senior leadership team as a VP or Senior Director level business partner, and reports to the COO.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Operations & Supply Chain Expertise
• Oversee and strategize operational cycle planning and Supply Chain function; inbound receipt through DC, to domestic and international customer delivery points of finished garments
• Develop and forecast inventory management, demand planning, engineer logistics rhythms, storage and flow-through tactics, capacity management, supplier challenges/ resolution

Technical Acumen

• Integrate ERP systems, SAP expert, data mining, partner with IT to troubleshoot
• Test and customize ERP system(s) within internal operational, WH, and retail teams synchronize with external sources and suppliers
• Create an in-depth strategy and synopsis to roll out e-Commerce supply chain distribution including technical migration, challenges and timelines

Financial Impact
• Spearhead ongoing cost benefit analysis of Supply Chain & Distribution with measurable cost savings for distribution within domestic and global markets
• Execute and drive budget perimeters to uphold business plans financially and operationally
• Identify and achieve operational cost savings with recommendations and follow through

Procurement, Service Partners
• Negotiate and procure contracts, rates, thresholds, etc. to meet all requirements of distribution, compliance, contingencies, and customer agreements
• Identify best 3PL service provider(s) or consolidation of 3PL for multi- selling channels; e-Commerce, wholesale, and retail distribution to best support business and client needs
• Oversee 3PL(s); negotiations, establish garment pick-pack requirements for high sku garment counts
• Set contractual expectations with all 3rd party vendors, compliance, safety etc.

Leadership
• Create strategic partnerships with Sales, Finance, Production, Pre-Production, IT, Allocation and senior leaders to identify and resolve operational challenges and in all business areas
• Communicate, partner, and set expectations to all connected parties and internal teams
• Manage direct teams and cross-functional teams to ensure policies, compliance, execution
• Develop and drive KPI’s across direct reports, internal teams, and vendor partners

Best Practices
• Roll out Sigma, Kaizen or other lean best practices (“best in class efforts”) to continually improve performance measured by key metrics across all functional areas
• Uphold and create operational standards; full scope and detailed specific to apparel distribution such as garment pick-pack, storage methods, systems interface, work-flow logistics

Job Requirements


• Normally requires Bachelor's degree (or MBA) in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar
• Preferred 10-12 years or more of experience and leadership in global apparel distribution and apparel wholesale/ retail operations
• Proven experience with apparel inventory audits, freight audits, systems interface
• Experience selecting and managing multiple 3PLs with warehouse systems
integration
• Domestic and international logistics, transportation and trade compliance expertise
• Demonstrated strengths in areas of Leadership (Senior Director or VP level)
• Excellent interpersonal skills to interface with all levels of executives, management and non-management, cross teams, and suppliers
• Advanced MS Excel. Systems savvy, SAP systems integration and experience preferred
• Applied knowledge of Kaizen principles or Lean Six Sigma, certifications a plus
• Current APICS certified in either CSCP, CPIM, or other related certification(s)
• Ability to work out of Corporate office in downtown Los Angeles 70% of the time
