SUMMARY:
Reporting into the Lead Graphic Designer, the Graphic Designer sits on Boardriders’ global Production Team, working on all three of our brands, Quiksilver, Roxy and DC Shoes. This person is responsible for the conception, design, and execution of innovative visual materials for integrated marketing initiatives. The designer is responsible for large scale campaigns to single executions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of the Lead Graphic Designer, design and create assets across a broad range of business, including packaging, marketing collateral, POP, tradeshow and merchandising materials, and web banners
Partner with team members to develop and produce content / materials that support the brand strategy
Ensure consistent branding and messaging
Attention to detail in design, preparation and presenting
Work collaboratively to ensure that all design solutions meet deadlines, objectives, and budget parameters
Research market trends and translate into brand appropriate graphics
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/EDUCATION:
2+ years of graphic design experience
Expert with layouts and typography
Strong, current portfolio reflecting relevant work
Proven experience with illustration and logo creation
Extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator
Working understanding of Macintosh work environment and how to use Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint and Word
Ability to design around concepts
Ability to think creatively and justify concepts to: executives, designers, marketers, sales and other internal staff
Committed to the professionalism of visual communication, passionate for design and creative problem solving
Must have confidence to present work at design reviews
Understands our target consumers and how to reach them through design
Possess a positive attitude and be a team player
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
Action Sports Industry specific experience
