Internship Duration: College/University course semester/quarterly dates
Boardriders, Inc. offers internships in various departments and provide college students with supervised practical experience in the workplace. You can intern in departments like Merchandising & Design, Retail Buying, Marketing, Public Relations, Operations and Human Resources to name a few.
To be considered for the Internship Program you MUST:
Be a Junior or Senior currently enrolled at a college or university; or enrolled in an MBA program AND
Receive academic credit for your internship AND
Able to provide proof of health insurance
(Please note: Students are eligible to intern during their course dates. Students may not begin before course date or continue past course date unless authorization letter is provided)
WHAT WOULD YOU BE DOING?
The Merchandising and Design intern will be exposed to all aspects of the design process, working closely with cross functional teams to gain understanding of how product is conceptualized, executed, developed, and sold in seasonally. The intern will be exposed to various design, merchandising, and development roles such as print and color development, inspiration shopping and line planning, design cadding, line preparation for various meetings, and general day to day department functions. The intern will gain a clear understanding of the role each department plays in the seasonal design process.
WHAT SKILLS, MAJOR OR EXPERIENCE ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Fashion Design, Merchandising, or Product Development Majors
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) ?
Corporate Active/Surf industry experience preferred
Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is a plus
