SUMMARY:
Director of Global Licensing will be a key member of the team that will work with the global brand leads and brand teams to extend Boardriders’ brands globally through strategic brand partnerships.  This person is responsible for supporting the origination, execution, and management of Boardriders’ brand partnerships.   
 
RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Facilitate the brand extensions of a portfolio of brands across all relevant lifestyle merchandise including ownership of relationship with licensees - identify partners, pitch/secure, negotiate deals, ongoing management of the partner relationship, product life cycle, product development, financial forecasting
Source and provide best practices for Licensed Collaboration opportunities
Create compelling brand partnership and product presentations for both internal and external audiences. Represent teams at key product creation meetings, when applicable.
Be an internal and external champion of the licensing business and working with management in setting strategy, vision for the global business
Work with global brand teams on strategic rollout of brand partnerships, including facilitating detailed brand books, seasonal guidelines, calendars and timely approvals from brand teams to brand partners.
Work with various support and operational teams (legal, financial, business planning, approvals)
Set up support systems to track and manage contracts and royalties, then present overviews to the executive team. 
Participate in licensing conferences and maintain awareness of trends, new products and customer buying behaviors.  
Work closely with the HR team to develop and implement people strategy to support achievement of objectives 
Exemplify behaviors expected from the team and in line with company values
Ensure risk is minimized through effective communication and processes that cover key legislation and policy (e.g. H&S, Equal Opportunity, Anti-Discrimination, Whistleblower, Trade Practices)
Ensure the team’s adherence to legal and policy requirements (e.g. Workplace Health and Safety, Boardriders policies, harassment and discrimination laws)
 
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/EDUCATION:
Demonstrated, 7+ years of experience in building and owning the end-to-end licensing function at a reputable Consumer Products organization
Track record of success in executing licenses that drive value & support brand vision
Bachelor’s or advanced degree (preferred)
Knowledge of fashion industry (preferred)
Strong knowledge of the licensing landscape (licensors, licensees, agents and retailers)
Contacts and network across the licensing landscape
Strong Communication skills - written and verbal, ability to prepare and deliver sales pitches and presentations
Great people skills, relationship builder, can do attitude, strong sense of urgency and ability to work independently
Strong organizational skills, can manage multiple projects/accounts, deadline oriented

Global experience
History of working directly with large global brand teams
Product Development experience and expertise within apparel, accessory, footwear and other lifestyle categories and experience
