SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Manager of Global Financial Consolidations, the Staff Accountant of Global Financial Consolidations will assist with the Company’s multi-region consolidation of approximately 80 entities, including supporting the finance team’s continuing process to integrate the Company’s recently acquired Billabong business into its existing consolidation process. The consolidation function is a dynamic and elaborate reporting process, covering 8 brands across three major regions, each region with three distribution channels (wholesale, retail, and ecommerce).  This position is hands on and involved in all aspects of the global consolidation process, including preparation of intercompany reconciliations, making local GAAP to US GAAP adjustments, posting of consolidating journal entries and preparation of accurate month end closing deliverables, such as the consolidated financials, in compliance with the company’s internal controls and policy and procedures.  Additionally, this position will interface with the regional and global finance function to support monthly business reviews and prepare ad-hoc reports as requested.   Further, this position will assist with statutory reporting, as well as help with the annual audit and preparation of lender-compliant quarterly and annual financial statements, including footnotes and management discussion and analysis.  Lastly, this position will take part in various projects as assigned to continually enhance the financial reporting consolidation process, including systems-based improvements and procedural updates.

Support and assist with preparation of monthly management results
Assist with all aspects of the monthly, quarterly and annual global financial statement consolidation process, including foreign currency translation and remeasurement and the intercompany reconciliation and elimination process
Work closely with the general ledger teams to receive trial balance and reporting packages within specified deadlines, consolidate and integrate into the company’s global consolidation system (BPC)
Aid in preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, including entity by entity statement of cash flows within published deadlines
Assembly of financial reporting support binders and month end deliverables, with tie outs and supporting documentation
Collaborate with regional finance teams for submission and review of financial supplemental schedules, review of intercompany account reconciliations and preparation of supporting schedules to ensure the accuracy, validity, completeness, and timeliness of financial records
Accountable for maintaining and monitoring internal controls for the financial reporting consolidation process
Provide support to management strategic initiatives and work with regional and global finance teams to account for and report complex transactions 
Assist external auditors, including the preparation of footnote disclosure schedules and prepared by client schedules for quarterly and annual financial reporting
 
 
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA preferred or equivalent progressive background (public accounting background, a plus)
Minimum 2 years’ experience in financial reporting and consolidations, demonstrating strong accounting and analytical skills
Strong working knowledge of GAAP and willingness to research and resolve issues
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
High level competency with ERP and reporting software (SAP and BPC strongly preferred)
Capability to communicate clearly and effectively (both verbal and written) with all levels of the organization
Attention to detail and proven experience with managing tasks and competing priorities
Strong organizational skills with scalability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
 
 
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
Experience with multi-currency and large multinational consolidation
Familiarity with SAP and BPC
Self-starter with a process improvement focus
Resourcefulness to problem solve, propose and implement solutions
