We're looking for a passionate and skilled team player to join the Boardriders ecommerce team as Gobal UI Designer and report directly our Director of Product. This person will help bring Boardriders outdoor action sports brands and products to life through elegant and simple online shopping journeys. The ideal candidate has 2-3 years of experience using a combination of design sense, user feedback, quantitative insights, forward-thinking aesthetics, and industry best practices. This is an opportunity to partner with product managers, engineering, analytics, marketing and creative to own a large part of the user experience and grow your skills.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
Execute on all phases of the design process—from wireframing concepts and mocks to final hand-off to engineering and design QA
Create responsive designs for multiple contexts and device types (desktop, mobile, tablet)
Collaborate with other product managers and web developers to determine product specifications and deliver quality designs
Own web application style guides, pattern libraries, and UX standards. Enforce industry best practices and consistency globally
Ensure deliverables are detailed enough for implementation through a deep understanding of modern FED (e.g. dynamic content, checkout scenarios, form behavior)
Perform design user acceptance testing for various projects in the development phase; maintain detailed project test log for IT
 
Required Skills, Abilities, and Experience:
3+ years experience as a UI Designer, or similar role
Expert with Adobe Photoshop, Invision, Adobe XD and Sketch
Thorough understanding of layout, typography and visual hierarchy
Thorough understanding of mobile and responsive design
Strong portfolio of design projects required
A desire for and willingness to accept feedback
Multi-tasking skills and ability to prioritize own work
 
Preferred:                                                                    
Working knowledge of HTML/CSS; JavaScript is a plus
 
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum two years experience in UI design
Working knowledge of visual design, psychology of design, journey mapping, contextual research, and storytelling
