SUMMARY:

The Regional Head of Planning will be responsible for leading the ~15-person merchandise planning team. S/he will oversee all aspects of integrated planning including supply and demand planning and merchandise planning. In concert with the Global Head, s/he will continue to build the company’s integrated planning function, including the implementation of industry-leading processes, systems and tools.



RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Partner closely with and serve as a true thought partner to the Global Head of Planning, Regional CFO, Regional President & Global Brand Leads
Continuous process improvement within the regional planning function
Bring outside insights and perspectives
Identify, hire/onboard, train, teach and mentor planning talent
Implement industry standard planning processes, including an integrated planning calendar
Identify and implement industry standard systems and tools
Facilitate and cultivate change
Design and implement strategies to ensure appropriate inventory is available to support sales, merchandising and marketing plans
Lead and manage the merchandise planning team in the development, analysis and revision of sales, inventory, markdowns and profit goals – ensure partnership with merchant heads from start of assortment definition through product lifecycle management, forecasting and demand planning
Establish parameters for appropriate merchandise flow to enhance sales, improve inventory turnover, improve gross margins and meet established in-stock criteria
Work closely with IT to evaluate the existing planning systems and recommend improvements, as needed.
Collaborate with Brand leadership & Sourcing to understand capacity, lead time, and vendor selection to ensure right product, right place, right time, right amount
Work in partnership with Operational peers to achieve on-time delivery through orderbook management, air/sea splits, and distribution center prioritization and other levers.
Partner with Global and Regional Product and Sales teams to drive efficient processes and growth in the business through buy and order optimization
Attract, retain, and mentor a high performing team of planning and inventory professionals
Collaborate closely with Europe and Australia-based planning counterparts to facilitate and streamline best practices across the globe
Create insightful visual analytics for cross-functional use to drive meaningful business decisions



CANDIDATE:

We seek an energetic, seasoned senior leader coming from a diverse background that includes buying, planning, supply chain, and/or operations who has:

An entrepreneurial spirit who can thrive in ambiguity
A rich understanding for how business works holistically across planning, replenishment, and supply chain
An informed point-of-view on product, brands, business and/or process with an openness to listen
Proactive curiosity and enjoys hands-on problem-solving
Experience as a ‘change agent’ but one who has a facilitative/supportive style to coach and mentor
A sense of urgency and a strong results orientation
Comfort with data and analytics
Worked within a multichannel (i.e., wholesale, retail and eCommerce), multi-brand environment, and built capabilities and processes

This leader will be a critical thought partner to the Global Head of Planning and must also have the ability to partner successfully with key stakeholders across brands and functions (e.g., merchandising, supply chain, sales and IT) to achieve business objectives and drive strategic change. Importantly, s/he must be able to cut through complexity and be able to focus the regional planning organization around critical priorities to achieve both its near term and longer-term objectives.




REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/EDUCATION:

8+ years of experience in forecasting, planning, buying, &/or demand planning in a multi-branded, multi-channel, international environment preferred
3+ years of experience managing direct reports
Experience in Specialty Apparel Merchandise Planning preferred
Degree in Business or related field
Advanced working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
Ability to analyze data to develop financially based merchandising insights and opportunities
Ability to consult, communicate and influence across range of people
Ability to work independently and coordinate information from different sources
Ability to work in a dynamic work environment
