Job Description
The Merchandising Assistant assists the merchandising team in managing tactical merchandising aspects of the business. Maintains product databases focused on data entry of assortments and communicates accurate product information to other departments. Helps analyze and solve problems and meet department deadlines.

Essential Functions
1. Work closely with the Fashion team to analyze business by preparing information including hindsight reports and boards for all merchandising meetings.
2. Compiles and maintains accurate information within internal databases.
3. Corresponds with vendors as needed on outstanding issues to ensure deadlines are met.
4. Collaborates with the product development and design teams to coordinate processes.
5. Acts as the point of contact for item information, production questions, etc.
6. Verifies catalog and website copy is accurate.
Job Requirements
1. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business reports.
2. Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
3. Ability to communicate professionally with others.
4. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
5. Knowledge of general retail math skills, and ability to solve practical problems.

Required Education and Experience
1. Bachelor’s degree required.
2. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a retail or catalog environment preferred.
3. An intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
4. Detail oriented, very organized and able to multi-task.
5. Able to work with a sense of urgency and meet deadlines.
6. Able and willing to solve problems.
