Lunya is looking for a Controller for our fast-growing team. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned accounting professional having worked in a fast-paced environment with vast knowledge of current accounting principles impacting e-commerce and retail store operations. You will be responsible for ensuring that Lunya financial reporting adheres to company, regulatory and generally accepted accounting practices. You will be expected to have a strong understanding of POS and Inventory system controls and understand their impact on financial results.
What you’ll do:
A majority of your position will demand ownership, excellent interpersonal skills with a service mindset, the ability to plan ten steps ahead and use data and analytics to solve complex problems. You are not only comfortable with, but happy to wear multiple hats when needed – and we bet you look good in hats, so why not? You are also hard-working, driven, entrepreneurial, and fun to be around, and will be responsible for the following:
• Oversee all finance, accounting and reporting activities, ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards, income tax reporting and regulatory requirements.
• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual close process, prepare journal entries, analyze accounting transactions and perform reconciliations.
• Ensure that Lunya has the systems and procedures in place to support effective reporting of financial information.
• Develop operational procedures and documentation of internal controls and policies.
• Partner with COO to prepare and monitor effective forecasting and budgeting; you will also be involved in supporting various presentations to the senior leadership team.
• Drive process improvement to support POS and Inventory systems and operational processes; troubleshoot system issues.
• Maintain a strong understanding of our cash flows; be the gatekeeper for unusual activity and unneeded expense.
• Responsible for managing operational data and ensuring data integrity and accuracy (credit card collection, inventory movement, monthly operational reporting, etc.).
• Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting and assist with projects as needed.

What you’ll need:
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related Business; CPA certification
• 7+ years accounting experience; experience in public accounting, retail industry and growth stage startups (series B to IPO) a big plus
• Experience in inventory production accounting / reporting is required.
• Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Experience implementing internal controls and running audits
• ERP proficiency a plus
• Big 4 accounting experience a plus
• Demonstrated ability to work in a “self-starter” environment and manage multiple work-streams simultaneously
