What You Will Do:
The Product Designer will lead the development and the execution of new conceptual products as well as enhance existing products.
Responsibilities:
• Integrate within all phases of product development; from market research to product renderings and ideation to product documentation
• Product innovation
• Explore ideas effectively through sketches, models, renderings, and prototypes as needed
• Consult with manager and compliance about design requirements
• Clarify and solve design issues
• Investigate appropriate materials and production processes
• Produce sketches and sample designs
• Maintain an awareness of current design trends and influences
• Understand and document trends and insights to share with team
• Provide creative solutions to common and complex problems
• Manage communication with factory for all design elements
• Create design specifications
• Test for features and conduct fittings
• Liaise with supply chain, compliance, marketing departments and factories
Who You Are:
• Bachelors’ degree in Product Design or similar, with 8-10 years of soft goods experience in product design and development
• Exceptional sketching for quick ideation and product exploration
• Ability to make physical prototypes
• Understanding and knowledge of different fabrics and materials
• Innovative thinking
• Proficient in Digital Illustration (Adobe Creative Suite)
• Great storytelling through effective verbal, written, and visual communication and presentations
• Ability to work within a team and individually
• Possess a can-do attitude while also consistently meeting established deadlines and goals
• Bring something new to our team so that we can learn as much from you as you will from us
• Experience in juvenile (baby carriers, car seats, etc.) or outdoor industry a huge plus
• Participates in development of seasonal and core product direction
• Researches trends and patterns for upcoming seasons, and creates original prints, patterns, and graphics
• Attends and participates in weekly design meetings
• Reports into the Sr. Director Brand and Product
