OVERVIEW
Vice is looking for a seasoned engineering and technology leader to help establish and implement the technical strategy for Viceâ??s digital platform in our DUMBO Brooklyn office. The rockstar candidate for this role will have impeccable communication skills and a deep analytical mind - knowing how to work with both developers and non-technical stakeholders. As a senior leader - you will join Viceâ??s Product & Engineering team and help foster a continued culture of technical excellence and be a major part of building kick-ass consumer facing products that have global reach.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with VP of Engineering to set platform strategy
Hands on technical mentorship of engineering teams participating in architecture design, code review, pair programming, and implementation of proven software design patterns
Ensuring scalability of highly visible consumer facing products and backend services
Participate in recruiting diverse top tier engineering talent against an aggressive hiring roadmap
Accelerate and optimize developer velocity by helping to implement best practices and owning results
Own technical performance and speed of consumer facing platforms
Engage with Product Management, Program Management, Design, Data / Analytics, Devops teams to deliver world class experiences

QUALIFICATIONS:
BS or MSc in Computer Science or relevant STEM fields
7+ Years development experience
Experience managing cross functional/multi-discipline distributed teams
Strong mastery of modern web technologies and Javascript frameworks (Node, React, Vue)
Demonstrable experience with performance optimization
Understanding of media / publishing workflows / advertising monetization strategies
Deep experience working with AWS technologies and real-time decisioning / edge processing
