<p><strong>EXECUTIVE PRODUCER - POLITICS (NY-based)</strong></p>

<p><em>The award-winning VICE News team develops and produces news content across VICE platforms and partner platforms. The news team focuses on in-depth longform storytelling and unique and creative ways to relay topical daily news. This is a collaborative team that works together to make everyone’s stuff better. <p><strong>Role x You</strong></p>
<p><em>The Executive Producer for politics will develop and execute a politics-focused show for Vice’s cable network. You need a vision for how to separate this show from all the other political shows out there, and the experience to execute it. Love of all the craziness that comes with politics is a must. </em></p>
<p><strong>In the short term… </strong><em>you will work with senior executives and the development team to develop and create the show - from original conception to final execution. You will be a part of the senior management staff, building out the show and hiring the team, then working to get it on the air flawlessly.</em></p>
<p><strong>After 6 months in this role… </strong><em>You’ll have full ownership of the show, tweaking the formula as needed and providing a confident execution of the final concept.</em></p>
<p><strong>And after a year.. </strong><em>You’ll be in the thick of an election, producing this show and working with senior leadership to guide Vice’s 2020 coverage.</em></p>
<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>
<p><strong>You have these:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><em>Extensive background in political news and distilling wonky information into something that matters</em></li>
<li><em>6-10 years control room experience, including experience with hosts, live content, and breaking news</em></li>
<li><em>Strong news judgment and excellent problem solver</em></li>
<li><em>Experience managing and leading a team of producers; assigning them to produce day-of and longer-term pieces</em></li>
<li><em>Experience managing a budget </em></li>
<li><em>Thrives in high-pressure, deadline-oriented situations</em></li>
<li><em>Excellent writing and editing skills; experience reviewing and revising scripts and rundowns</em></li>
<li><em>Collaborative team player with a positive attitude</em></li>
</ul>
<p><strong>We’d love if you also had these:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><em>Experience working on long-form scripts and story arcs</em></li>
<li><em>Ability to pitch unique story angles and ideas for packages and specials</em></li>
