<p><strong>Line Producer, Vice News Tonight</strong></p>
<p><strong>VICE x News</strong></p>
<p>The award-winning VICE News team develops and produces news content across VICE platforms and partner platforms. The news team focuses on in-depth longform storytelling and unique and creative ways to relay topical daily news. This is a collaborative team that works together to make everyone’s stuff better. <p><strong>Role x You</strong></p>
<p>The Line Producer for Vice News Tonight will choose news stories, create the rundown, and be in the control room for the show. You are someone who knows how to look for unique angles and come up with ideas that will differentiate this show in the news ecosystem. You are calm and collected under pressure, effectively communicating last-minute changes to all the stakeholders. </p>
<p>In the short term… you will work with the senior staff and EP to develop and launch a reimagined one hour Vice News Tonight. You will manage the daily news portions of the show, overseeing story selection, editorial, and writing, managing a team of producers, APs and PAs. And you’ll work with the Senior Broadcast Producer to approve all scripts. You are an impressive tease writer who knows how to keep an audience tuning in without using cliches. You will work with the production crew to implement systems to get the show on the air seamlessly. </p>
<p>After 6 months in this role… You’ll own the editorial direction of all daily news in the show, and will be concepting and delivering new treatments that break the mold for how we deliver daily news. You’ll be regularly pitching new segments and franchises to set the show apart.</p>
<p>And after a year.. You will be regularly filling in for the Senior Broadcast Producer, and building out unique off-shoots and side projects tied into the Vice News universe.</p>
<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>
<p><strong>You have these:</strong></p>
<ul>

<p>5-7 years control room experience, including experience with hosts, live content, and breaking news</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Experience managing a team of producers, APs, PAs</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Mastery of quality control - you spot inaccuracies before they make air</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Excellent news judgment and knowledge of current events, politics and culture</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Excellent communicator - with host, producers, control room staff, and production crew</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Meticulous organizer who thrives in high-pressure situations and handles breaking news with ease</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Excellent writing and editing skills; impressive tease writer</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Collaborative team player with a positive attitude</p>
</li>
</ul>
