<p><strong>VICE x News</strong></p>
<p>The award-winning VICE News team develops and produces news content across VICE platforms and partner platforms. The news team focuses on in-depth longform storytelling and unique and creative ways to relay topical daily news. This is a collaborative team that works together to make everyone’s stuff better. We believe in listening to everyone’s ideas and bringing on a diverse group of people who love working together to make the best, most unique news content out there.</p>

<p><strong>Role x You</strong></p>
<p>As a Senior Producer you will guide the editorial direction of packages for Vice News Tonight and other Vice News platforms and shows, as part of the senior management team. You have an exceptional handle on what makes a good story and know how to motivate and advise a team to get the best version of it in the field. </p>
<p><strong>In the short term… </strong>you will work with a team of producers and APs reporting to you to develop and greenlight pitches. You’ll have pre-production meetings to delve into angles and characters and story arc, and help the team execute when they’re in the field. On their return, you’ll top-edit, rewrite, and tweak scripts as needed, and work with the team throughout the editing process and final sign off by the EP. Expect to manage various shoots and stories at once.</p>
<p><strong>After 6 months in this role… </strong>You’ll be developing edgier and more unique story ideas that set us apart, and making sure your team grows editorially. You’ll be regularly pitching new segments and franchises and special longform projects.</p>
<p><strong>And after a year.. </strong>You’ll comfortably and independently lead your team and own a franchise or beat (or two)...with a full understanding of what makes a Vice News story and large-scale production great. </p>

<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>
<p><strong>You have these:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Minimum 7 years experience leading a team/building stories with a team</li>
<li>Able to manage a team of 5-10 people</li>
<li>Excellent news judgment and exceptional knowledge of current events</li>
<li>Mastery of story arc and how to build characters, scenes, and moments</li>
<li>Excellent writing and script editing skills</li>
<li>Able to manage a team and get the best out of each member</li>
<li>Collaborative team player with a positive attitude</li>
<li>Ability to develop and pitch unique story ideas and angles, with research to back it up </li>
</ul>
<p><strong>We’d love if you also had these:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Long-form and/or documentary news experience</li>
<li>Newsroom experience working on tight deadlines</li>
</ul>
