<p><strong>VICE x News</strong></p>
<p>The award-winning VICE News team develops and produces news content across VICE platforms and partner platforms. The news team focuses on in-depth longform storytelling and unique and creative ways to relay topical daily news. This is a collaborative team that works together to make everyone’s stuff better. <p><strong>Role x You</strong></p>
<p>VICE News is looking for an exceptional leader to drive editorial decisions and coverage from the LA Bureau. You’ll oversee day-of news pieces and breaking news in the western part of the country, along with longer-form and investigative pieces. You will manage the team of correspondents, producers, crews, and other resources out of LA. You have a deep understanding of how to differentiate VICE’s coverage during a crucial election year is a must… as is knowing how to bring those ideas out in the team.</p>

<p><strong>Qualifications</strong><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>You have these:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><em>7-10 years’ experience in senior leadership of a newsroom or bureau / managing teams</em></li>
<li><em>Proven experience helming editorial vision </em></li>
<li><em>Ability to maintain high journalistic standards</em></li>
<li><em>Able to effectively manage staff of producers / APs and lead teams in stories from the bureau and in the field</em></li>
<li><em>Able to generate exceptional story ideas, for breaking news, quick turn formats and longer-lead pieces</em></li>
<li><em>Willing to work under tight deadline pressure</em></li>
<li><em>Deliver on time and on budget</em></li>
<li><em>Expert communicator; experience giving direct and constructive feedback</em></li>
<li><em>Experience with project management and overseeing many moving parts, assignments, and deliverables at once</em></li>
</ul>
<p><strong>We’d love if you also had these:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><em>Track record of running large teams</em></li>
<li><em>Excellent writing and editing skills; experience reviewing and revising scripts and rundowns</em></li>
<li><em>Experience working on long-form and investigative scripts and story arcs</em></li>
