<p><strong>VICE x News</strong></p>
<p>The award-winning VICE News team develops and produces news content across VICE platforms and partner platforms. The news team focuses on in-depth longform storytelling and unique and creative ways to relay topical daily news. This is a collaborative team that works together to make everyone’s stuff better. We believe in listening to everyone’s ideas and bringing on a diverse group of people who love working together to make the best, most unique news content out there.</p>

<p><strong>Role x You</strong></p>
<p>As a day-of-air crash Producer, you will turn daily pieces with the unique Vice angle and tone. You need to be a great writer and experienced in the full production of a piece. You’ll pitch, follow up on booking calls, interview potential characters, script and follow the package through edit, to air. You should have experience in breaking news situations, and able to keep your cool when everything changes, and you’re forced to adapt. You may need to travel on short notice and/or change schedules on short notice due to breaking news.</p>

<p><strong>In the short term…</strong> you will be responsible for various ways we cover the daily news, from short snippets to longer pieces. And you’ll have a role in developing new ways to tell those stories.</p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong>After 6 months in this role…</strong> You will juggle and own multiple news stories each day, turning them for a daily show, with a unique angle that’s unlike other news coverage in the space.</p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong>And after a year...</strong> You will be developing more unique storytelling ideas for the daily news, pitching franchises and helping build the Vice News Tonight brand in the daily news sector.</p>

<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong>You have these:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Min 5 years’ experience producing day-of news, including breaking news, ideally for a news show</li>
<li>Excellent news judgment and strong knowledge of current events</li>
<li>Excellent communicator who thrives in high-pressure situations and handles breaking news with ease</li>
<li>Must be able to juggle multiple stories at once, on various deadlines</li>
<li>Experience supporting newsgathering teams in the field</li>
<li>Excellent writing skills</li>
<li>Collaborative team player with a positive attitude</li>
</ul>
