<p><strong>VICE x Team</strong></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Commercial Design Director is a leadership position in the VICE Media Group Design team, a key architect and stakeholder of the VICE philosophy and brand expression. The candidate is responsible for the oversight and elevation of high concept branded design that is in service of the VICE Media Group’s Commercial design needs. </span></p>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Lead and inspire a multi-skilled team, fostering a culture that places a premium on ideas, creativity and innovation to stimulate original thinking and deliver industry-leading creative</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Encourage team development by mentoring and supporting creative collaboration across departments while also breaking down silos</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Work closely with the Group Creative Director to determine a path to action for key initiatives and priorities and to ensure work efficiencies and consistent executions across every platform</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Help develop breakthrough approaches to building a cohesive brand look and help spearhead brand maintenance and evolution</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Manage workflow from concept to completion</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Create a positive, collaborate, supportive culture by being solution-oriented, and encouraging collaboration and respect</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Collaborate with the creative teams (across LOBs) and leadership to ensure excellent collaboration between designers and creatives</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Guide team members towards innovative, best-in-class visual executions for all client programs (internal and external)</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Ensure that we are always pushing design boundaries for every execution, from pitch decks to photo briefs to short-form animations to long-form documentaries</span></li>

<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">8+ years of experience in media and/or advertising industries</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Experience managing a team of designers and/or creatives – performance management, mentoring, coaching, etc. </span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Requires a strong design and typographic sense and a thorough knowledge of graphic design, motion graphics, branding/marketing and production</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Full understanding of Adobe Design programs</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Experience in creating and implementing branded identities and graphic identity systems</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Past experience in pre and post production for photo and video shoots. </span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Experience working in a matrixed organization</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Experience working in a digital and revenue generating line of business a must </span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Strong discipline and organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Strong strategic thinking and creative presentation skills are extremely important for the success of this position</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">A deep knowledge of cutting edge illustrators, photographers, animators, DPs and creative talent across the industry</span></li>
