<p> <strong>Role x You</strong></p>
<p>The incoming Senior Director, HR Business Partner will support the Digital group reporting directly to the Sr. Director, HR Business Partners. VICE seeks an experienced generalist who has significant business partner experience, deep subject matter expert knowledge, and effective communication and interpersonal skills that enable to help the individual work successfully and a broad spectrum of talent management issues and projects.  The HRBP will collaborate with HRBP colleagues and the SVP, Global HRBP to build a world-class HRBP function.</p>
<p>The HRBP will lead and manage organization design efforts and help to create a talent management strategy across VICE.com. The HRBP will lead change management projects and manage the HR-related internal and external communication. The HRBP serves as a member of management team of their client group, leading performance management/compensation planning, employee relations issues, union negotiations and all other HR related topics. The HRBP actively supports discussions and transfers best practices from different functions across the organization. This person is seen as a leader within the people management area and advises the management team within VICE.com on all HR matters</p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>
<p>The successful candidate will bring deep functional, management experience and operational leadership, and will drive to innovate and deliver results. Specifically:</p>
<ul>
<li>Act as a single point of contact for the employees and managers in the client group</li>
<li>Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning, within the US, EMEA, LATAM and APAC</li>
<li>Build a strong, trusted business relationship with the VICE.com management team</li>
<li>Coaches with line managers on employee issues, providing HR guidance and feedback</li>
<li>Work closely with the VP, Employee Relations and Employment Counsel to manage and resolve complex employee relations issues (conducting effective, thorough and objective investigations)</li>
<li>Proactively support the delivery of HR processes at the client’s side</li>
<li>Manage complex and difficult HR projects cross-functionally, across various regions of the organization</li>
<li>Actively identifies gaps, proposes and implements changes necessary to cover risks</li>
<li>Facilitates discussions across the management team to collectively create solutions for employees challenges</li>
<li>Act as the performance improvement driver and provokes positive changes in talent management</li>
<li>Design and maintain data of the performance of the client group from a talent management perspective (retention, learning &amp; development, etc.)</li>
<li>Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the client group to develop solutions, programs, and policies</li>
<li>Challenges the organizational structure of the client and proposes positive changes that help drive business results</li>
<li>Partners with Recruitment team to lead hiring efforts and create sourcing strategies</li>
<li>Participate in union negations and work with internal partners to resolve grievances</li>
</ul>
<p>     <strong>Qualifications</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Minimum of 8 years of professional HR experience including at least 4 years in the HRBP function of leadership for globally-respected, brand-name companies or professional associations</li>
<li>Previous experience in media or digital/advertising agencies experience preferred, but not required</li>
<li>Knowledge of employment law within NY and CA, as well as local practice, globally</li>
<li>Knowledge of FMLA, ADA, COBRA and collective bargaining</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to drive large-scale cultural change efforts in well-regarded companies, while partnering with key stakeholders</li>
<li>Positive role model with strong work ethic and the utmost integrity</li>
<li>Excellent consultative, coaching, counseling and conflict resolution skills</li>
<li>Ability to influence and articulate a variety of issues to different audiences, tailoring messages accordingly</li>
<li>Analytical and creative; ability to create a business narrative out of data and capable of flexing solutions to changing demands</li>
<li>Highly motivated to seek higher levels of performance in self and in others</li>
<li>Commitment to the highest standards of excellence and personal integrity</li>
<li>Able to independently juggle multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously</li>
<li>Comfortable in a fast-paced environment where priorities and goals evolve on a regular basis</li>
<li>Bachelor’s degree required</li>
<li>Union experience is required</li>
