The Sourcing Analyst will provide cost analysis and reporting metrics to the sourcing organization in the development of strategic initiatives to support cost targets. This position will prepare financial reviews to support the selection of cost appropriate manufacturing partners and prepare for cost reviews internally and cost negotiations externally. Will also own the quarterly roll up of data required to support accurate and meaningful Supplier and Vendor reviews for both manufacturing and raw material partnerships.


This position will analyze performance results against established costing metrics and make recommendations regarding the development of non-compliant vendors. Support continuous improvement initiatives through maintaining effective relationships with internal and external partners and making sound recommendations for costing improvements. Participate in the development and integration of sourcing procedures including product reviews, Design partnerships for best in class product builds to support selection of manufacturing partners, and interfacing with Developers on make and costing updates to hit margin targets. This role can expect to play an active role in process and system improvement within sourcing and in collaboration with vendors and internal customers.

Job Scope & Major Responsibilities

• In support of manager, presents to contractors and other customers competitive insight analysis in support of cost improvement initiatives.
• Validates internal roll ups of cost and forecast information inclusive of projected trends (wholesale/retail) and ensures accurate representation of information to internal and external customers.
• Maintain awareness of changing market conditions as well as strategic business directions that create opportunities for cost savings/avoidance and efficiencies.
• Conducts audits of costs breakdowns and prepares reports.
• Analyzes actual manufacturing costs and prepares periodic reports utilizing factory BOM costs, product specifications and margin expectations
• Maintains project timeline, coordinating key meetings, and ensuring timely delivery of costing projects.
• Facilitates sessions with vendors, review bids, conduct vendor analysist and build vendor evaluations/selection criteria in collaboration with the business owner and other stakeholders.
• Partners with Product Line Managers, Inventory Planning and Sales to help create an accurate portrayal of cost within Pricing assumptions (design, materials, country of origin) and build-up of category opportunities.
• Assists with forecast and margins analysis for product categories.
• Executes season to season close analysis and identifies opportunities for cost improvement.
• Perform benchmarking, spend analysis and other research to enhance results of sourcing events.
• Support Sourcing Excellence initiatives through best practice SOP development and implementations.
• Creates costing scenarios for managers to review.
• Researches commodities costs regularly.
• Stays in-tune with labor cost in regions where goods are made.
• Develops pre-and post product development cost analysis, and hind sighting
• Supports other projects in the sourcing area ad hoc.

Key Qualifications:

• Ability to work productively in an environment that requires constant development of technical data skill sets.
• Experience with SAP and BI (Business Intelligence software) strongly preferred
• Knowledge of data base software preferred
• Superb interpersonal and customer service skills, with demonstrated ability to influence internal and external resources
• Proven ability to work in a fast paced and evolving environment
• Flexible nature with the ability to react quickly and sometimes creatively to business needs
• Team player - puts aside personal goals and works well with others, doing what needs to be done to strive for a common goal
• Highly driven, self-motivated and capable of working without significant supervision
• University or four-year college degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration is required, or equivalent professional experience
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in cost proposals and analysis
• Experience working with engineering and manufacturing partners on the development and analysis of cost standards
• Practical knowledge of related functions including sourcing, marketing, design, wholesale sales, merchandising, inventory planning and distribution
• Experience working with Contracting, Pricing, Cost Analysis, Competitive Intelligence

Communication and Software skills:
• Ability to accurately prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports
• Capable to analyze and interpret both qualitative and quantitative data
• Detail-oriented, excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask
• Computer proficiency in all Microsoft programs; advanced MS Excel skills required.

Mathematical skills:
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

• Excellent skills in analyzing contracts and RFQ for compliance, and has expertise in dealing with non-routine and complex projects

Travel required:

• 2-3 times per year
