ABOUT THE POSITION
Although we're an apparel and footwear focused company, technology is central to everything we do. Columbia Sportswears Global Information Services (GIS) teams enable an IT infrastructure across four global brands, a global supply chain, and 500+ geographically dispersed stores. These teams support in-store, mobile, and data platforms to enhance customer interface and service in an ever-evolving industry.
We are seeking a Senior Director - Digital Product, Commerce & Engagement to help us spearhead our digital product team as we develop, identify opportunities, build digital solutions, and grow our digital product. This role leads Digital Product capabilities for the Columbia, prAna, Mountain Hardware, and SOREL brands to increase consumer engagement and drive growth. To do so, the role will lead a newly integrated team on a Digital Transformation journey, broadening consistent agile practices and growing a world class team, to accelerate the maturation of capabilities across the global footprint.
HOWYOULLMAKE A DIFFERENCE
Drive product strategies and long term vision to build best in class digital products
Conduct user research and usability studies, collaborating with designers, developers and research teams from end to end of the process.
Ability to craft a product vision (short to long term) and convert that into a concrete strategy
Participate in market research, validation, and whitespace analysis to identify new opportunities for new and existing features and functionalities
Facilitate enterprise processes for feature, capability and strategic initiative identification, assessment, and prioritization
Partner with business owners and agile product teams to build product roadmaps that will be incorporated into the broader company product portfolio plan
Develop and implement data pipelines that extract, transform, and load data into an information product
Work on managing, storing, processing and analyzing large data sets to identify business opportunities/efficiencies
Evaluate, analyze, and understand the voice of the customer through a variety of data sources
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
Manage the product roadmap and backlog for all digital products
Oversee and manage lead requirements discovery, solution design, user story writing, feature development, and user acceptance testing
Partner with the executive teams to identify key capabilities needed as well as identifying potential issues
Partner with cross functional teams regularly to ensure alignment on feature development and prioritization
Partner with Technology partners to manage the roadmap and backlog to ensure delivery of all capabilities on time and per expectation
Monitor and evaluate product performance to ensure constant product iteration and improvements
Recruit, retain and develop world class talent
Required Skills and Qualifications
Our ideal candidate will have 5-7 years experience in Digital Product Management. They must have a customer-first mindset, a strong understanding of back-end and front-end programming languages, and the ability to develop data pipelines that can be used to track, analyze, and improve our digital product. This role requires a candidate with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills as you'll be working with a team to interpret large amounts of data. This is a customer centric role, working to translate the needs of the customer into online business opportunities.
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. Masters degree is preferred
Experience writing SQL queries, experience with back-end and front-end programming languages, such as Java, HTML, CSS, Angular JS
Strong analytical, prioritization, and negotiating skills
Usability and customer-focused design experience a plus
Passionate about building great products and solving customer and business problems
Excellent collaboration and influencing skills
Ability to maintain productivity in a multi-tasking environment
Professional verbal and written communication
