ABOUT THE POSITION
Columbia Sportswears dynamic global supply chain consists of 4 distribution centers, 430 retail stores, 80 apparel factories and 20 footwear factories worldwide. By leveraging data analytics, we are constantly pushing to make smarter business decisions and identifying innovative ways to make Columbia Sportswears supply chain more efficient and effective to meet our consumers ever-changing needs.
Columbia Global Manufacturing brings product ideas to reality to connect active people with their passions. We cover everything from raw materials development, product development, fit engineering, quality, sourcing and then the Liaison Offices that manage the product manufacturing.

The Sr. Global Demand Planner will play a key role and is responsible for forecasting global demand across regions and channels and providing analytical insights across the enterprise. From Product Creation and Go-To-Market (GTM) processes through seasonal execution. In this role you will create and leverage analytics to lead and inform cross-functional decisions related to product assortment strategy, tracking key performance indicators, and inputs into Supply Chain decisions. Additionally, you will be accountable for driving a consensus Global Demand Plan for defined categories considering multiple data and cross-functional inputs. Individuals in this role may also expect to participate in continuous improvement activities and/or projects representing the functional team.


HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCEDrive forecast process improvement and best practices with key business partners to measure and improve forecast accuracy metrics season-over-season/year-over-year
Responsible for partnering with Global Finance on the seasonal financial targeting process and collaborate with Global Merchandising to reconcile a global, omni-channel forecast
Conducts operational reviews with Global Merchandising, Global Finance, and key business leaders and/or executive leadership
Facilitate analysis for the long-range forecasting process for improved supply chain and manufacturing planning
Provide analysis related to seasonal hind-sighting, product line architecture strategy, Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP), and assortment optimization informing decisions related to product and supply chain execution
Operates as a key business partner supporting the product line plan development process, in collaboration with Global Merchandising, through style productivity and historical performance analysis
Participate and lead internal and cross-functional business process and analytics continuous improvement efforts and/or projects


YOU AREAble to solve complex problems, and develops independent creative solutions based on the evaluation of multiple options. Decisions will impact multiple departments or disciplines.
Able to engage with business partners and leaders up and down the organization
Effective working under limited supervision.
Experienced at Identifying and solving complex functional and cross-functional problems
Highly effective and able to handle multiple competing priorities and prioritize according to business need. This is a must.


YOU HAVEBachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Management, or other applicable discipline required, MBA desirable
Required 5-8 years of professional experience in enterprise and/or global planning, forecasting, supply chain, analytics, and/or related fields. Has deep knowledge of the concepts and theories of the function
Required broad understanding of the apparel/footwear industry and the global marketplace
Strong forecasting skills, preferably with Blue Yonder and/or other statistical forecasting applications
Experience at being proactive and assertive in follow-through with business leaders, colleagues, and business partners, including a high degree of self-direction
The ability to collaborate and influence others across various levels, regions, and cultures
Strong verbal, presentation, and written communication skills with the ability to write clear and concise business communication to audiences up and down the organization
Critical eye for evaluating data and translating to decision makers through storytelling
Strong experience analyzing data through Business Intelligence and visualization tools (Power BI/Tableau experience preferred)
High proficiency, advanced Microsoft Excel and intermediate experience using other Microsoft suite applications


Additional InformationJob may require hours that often exceed 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week to complete priority tasks and projects. Job pressure exists in the balancing of a variety of projects, and numerous simultaneous deadlines.
Job scope may include intermittent international travel (up to 20%).
