About the Position
Although we're an apparel and footwear focused company, technology is central to everything we do. Columbia Sportswears Digital Technology (CDT) team enables an IT infrastructure across four global brands, a global supply chain, and 500+ geographically dispersed stores. These teams design and support all of the various technologies and platforms used to deliver a great customer experience.

As Columbias Infrastructure technologies evolve, we need to ensure we have a technically sound, innovative, and scalable plan to meet future demands. Our Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) team is looking for an experienced IAM (Identify Access Management) Principal Engineer as part of that effort. The IAM Principal Engineer is responsible for providing engineering leadership, planning, analysis, and technical design related to the development and operation of Columbia Sportswears Identity Management technologies.

You should have expertise in Microsoft and other authentication and identity technologies including development of associated business and technical workflows and associated automation. This role will encompass the technical design and continual improvement of Columbias role-based security framework. You will be responsible for schema designs, technical and business workflows, and operational planning.

This role is available to work in office at our corporate headquarters in Portland Oregon, hybrid remote or fully remote in all US states except for Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.

HOW YOULL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Design, develop, test, implement, and integrate Identity Access Management (IAM) systems and solutions.
Lead the successful technical delivery of IAM projects and services for our internal customers by working directly with engineering colleagues, key business stakeholders, and project teams. The IAM principal engineer will often be the technical lead and SME on IAM initiatives and as such must drive the vision and technical alignment of the solution delivery.
Leverage problem solving and data analysis skills to ensure projects deliver on time.
Identify and analyze system design weaknesses and propose new architecture to remediate.
Act as final escalation level for troubleshooting issues related to identities, systems, access, accounts, authentication, authorization, entitlements, and permissions.
Determine and recommend the most appropriate response to identified more complex problems, issues and/or defects by assessing impact and prioritization.
Promote, and advise on solutions and best practices by using appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle.
Maintain awareness and knowledge of current changes within legal, regulatory, and technology environments which may affect IAM use and implementation.

YOU HAVE
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or in STEM Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with a minimum of 6 years of technical experience in identity management engineering.
A minimum 3 years of experience working in a senior IAM engineering/architect role or current CIAM, CAMS, CIMP, CISSP or other IAM related certification(s).
In-depth experience with Microsoft Active Directory (AD), Azure AD, and related IAM technologies
Deep technical experience in systems integration and software engineering of identity access management (IAM) solutions including software development and scripting (e.g., PowerShell and Python)


WHAT YOU KNOW
Knowledge and experience with Linux/Unix, Windows, SQL, PKI, RBAC, SAML, OAuth, LDAP, OpenID, and web services.
Knowledge and understanding of information security concepts such as authentication, access control, and cryptography.
Strong understanding of cloud computing architecture, technical design and implementations, including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS) delivery models.
