ABOUT THE POSITION
Although we're an apparel and footwear focused company, technology is central to everything we do. Columbia Sportswears Digital Technology (CDT) teams enable an IT infrastructure across four global brands, a global supply chain, and 500+ geographically dispersed stores. These teams support in-store, mobile, and data platforms to enhance customer interface and service in an ever-evolving industry.

The Senior Data Platform Engineer is a member of the Data & Analytics (D&A) Platform and Architecture team responsible for the design, development, testing, maintenance, and support of CSC's Enterprise Data Platform. Working on a dedicated scrum team, the Senior Data Platform Engineer will provide technical and architectural design, as well as development and analytical support for CSC's D&A platform.

The Senior Data Platform Engineer must have demonstrable big data experience with cloud computing to help the D&A team deliver high-quality, first-class reporting to customers. A skillset that includes data architecture and system design is a must.


HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Design and develop reusable tools of execution and processes to maintain the data platform
Collaborate to build scalable processes and systems
Collaborate with peers to best determine integration patterns across the data platform
Identify expensive processes and provide tuning guidance
Lead large-scale projects and deliverables
Guide and mentor junior teammates



YOU ARE

An analytic thinker and problem solver who enjoys diving into problems and finding creative solutions

Highly structured with the ability to organize others around you

YOU HAVE
Bachelors degree, applicable certification, or equivalent experience
5+ years of designing Big Data systems and processes in a Cloud environment
Expert in SQL and query optimization techniques
5+ years experience with programming languages
3+ years of Apache Spark with Python
Experience in design and development of an Enterprise CI/CD process; and
Expert technologies in the data platform (Data Factory, Databricks, Data Lake, Data Warehouse, and SQLDB).
