ABOUT THE POSITION
Although we're an apparel and footwear focused company, technology is central to everything we do. Columbia Sportswears Digital Technology (CDT) teams enable an IT infrastructure across four global brands, a global supply chain, and 500+ geographically dispersed stores. These teams support in-store, mobile, and data platforms to enhance customer interface and service in an ever-evolving industry.

The Solutions Architect is responsible for the design and implementation of CSC's Data & Analytics (D&A) Platform. The role will spend a significant amount of time on solution design, technical collaboration, and leadership, but it will also participate in hands-on development. A successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of the platform's capabilities, resources, and domain. As a technology stack expert, the Solutions Architect will provide vision and guidance to both developers and leadership.

HOWYOULLMAKE A DIFFERENCE
Develop, coach developers, perform code reviews, audit, and provide clear direction to engineers on new or improved patterns
Collaboratively drive the technical vision and architecture for Columbia's Enterprise Data and Analytics platform
Drive vendor relationships to keep abreast of new technologies
Identify, investigate, and implement new technologies into the data platform stack
Collaborate with and train data and data platform engineers on new technologies and design patterns
Lead developer team of developers on projects and deliverables
Mentor data platform engineers

YOUHAVE
5+ years of designing Big Data systems and processes in a Cloud environment
5+ years experience with programming languages (e.g. Python, PySpark)
5+ years experience in developing technology solutions, but not limited to: operations/engineering, networking engineering, infrastructure/database architecture, and/or applications development
Experience with high efficiency messaging systems (e.g. Service Bus, Event Hub, Kafka)
Experience in design and development of an Enterprise CI/CD process
Real-life production experience creating architectural framework and tools for Data Science teams to build, train, and scale machine learning models
Expert in SQL and query optimization techniques
Expert in data modeling techniques
Expert in all technologies in the data platform: Data Factory, Databricks, Data Lake, Data Warehouse, and SQLDB
