ABOUT THE POSITION
As a Industrial Engineer at our Distribution Center in Robards, KY you will provide professional industrial engineering services to Columbia Sportswears DC operations by evaluating production standards; conducting cost comparison studies and feasibility studies; and developing plant layouts, plant scheduling, and production routing procedures. You will also develop plant systems and methods, maintain staffing and cubing models. In this role you will recommend equipment to ensure the most economical processing, storage and retrieval of material, and automated material handling equipment. You will also contribute to positive morale by developing strong working relationships that build alignment and develop and manage cross-functional and interdepartmental projects.

HOWYOULLMAKE A DIFFERENCE
Use engineering expertise to review and analyze current automated material handling equipment and recommend changes and improvements that increase productivity and contribute to cost efficiency
Use project management skills in key, high level assignments involving design and development of new plant facilities, plant layout, production operations, and implementation of material handling systems
Analyze production operations, determine and specify the most efficient operator methods, stock positioning, crew size, and individual workstation assignments
Conduct work measurement studies using standard data, MOST, and other acceptable methods to establish operational and production standards
Oversee contract consultants and technical service providers, engaged in process and production improvement projects
YOU ARE
Proficient in Engineered Work Standards, preferably in Basic MOST and the Labor Pro application
Analyze a variety of data reporting results to management. Prepare requested Ad Hoc reports
Able to make effective oral presentations before groups of varying sizes using excellent written and verbal communications skills
Coordinating with Work Force Optimization team on developing/maintaining/reviewing Engineered Work Standards and the Labor Management system

YOUHAVE
Bachelors or higher degree in Industrial Engineering. Mechanical/Electrical working knowledge is a plus
3-5 years of experience relevant to application of industrial engineering methods and tools, warehouse operations process improvements and efficiencies, and project management concepts in a distribution center environment
Working knowledge of industrial engineering processes and practices, advanced mathematics including statistics, administrative management and supervisory techniques, warehouse design and layout
Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing process improvements
Proficiency in Auto Cad LT
