ABOUT THE POSITIONThe Consumer Strategy team is looking for a Market Research Analyst to assist in the development, analysis, and presentation of market and competitive intelligence and consumer insights. These reports promote market and consumer-focused decision-making processes at Columbia. Additionally, in this role, you will act as liaison, primary resource and problem-solver for internal stakeholders related to the training and use of consumer data platforms.

HOWYOULLMAKE A DIFFERENCE Analyze marketplace and economic conditions for changes in the industry.

Collect and analyze data to evaluate and size existing and potential product markets and trends (domestic and international.)

Identify and monitor competitors; analyze product, prices, sales, methods of marketing, and distribution.

Use consumer data platforms to inform marketing and brand strategy, monitor short and long-term changes in brand funnel and perception metrics, and assess impact of brand campaigns.

Prepare research reports, which include graphic illustrations of findings.


YOU AREWell-versed in written and verbal communication skills including the ability to research and gather information from various sources and present in a summary fashion.

Detail-oriented with the ability to quickly learn how the details fit into the overall bigger picture.

Capable of displaying excellent organizational, planning and presentation skills.

Able to work effectively under deadline pressure and be able to thrive in a dynamic and constantly changing environment.


YOUHAVE2-5 years of experience with data analysis, research, and/or consumer insights

Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills with the ability to work well with numbers and analyze complex data. Must be able to perform moderately difficult mathematical computations.

Demonstrated proficiency with data analysis platforms and data visualization programs such as Tableau, Excel spreadsheets, charts and graphs, in addition to presentation software (MS Powerpoint) as the majority of work will be performed in these applications.

Must be team player with comfort providing direction and leadership to peers.
