ABOUT THE POSITION
Although we're an apparel and footwear focused company, technology is central to everything we do. Columbia Sportswears Columbia Sportswears Digital Technology (CDT) teams enable an IT infrastructure across four global brands, a global supply chain, and 500+ geographically dispersed stores. These teams support in-store, mobile, and data platforms to enhance customer interface and service in an ever-evolving industry.

The Director - Logistics Technology is a senior management role in the CSC Digital Technology group. Working in partnership with architects, business partners, product management, and others, you will build the vision and contribute to roadmaps for integration across our logistics landscape.
This role will be a critical lead in delivering strategic solutions in the logistics technology space. This director role will build, lead, and scale logistics technology to support the vision of the organizations strategic business plan.

The Director Logistics Technology requires a proven leader who can manage multiple teams that are supporting the current business applications and drive new solutions as Columbia Sportswear Company moves forward in expanding its Global Omni-Channel business capabilities.

HOWYOULLMAKE A DIFFERENCE
Strategy and Planning: Define strategies and processes for global Distribution IT operations management. Develop technical roadmaps (typically covering 1-3 years) required to support the logistics product capability roadmap. Partner with business area leaders to collaboratively define, shape, articulate and prioritize requirements and business cases for new or changed technical services. Support the prioritization using cost/benefit analysis to proactively manage business demand.
Partnerships: Proactively serve as a trusted business partner and the primary point of contact from CDT for Logistics Business Leaders, articulating CDTs services, capabilities, and activities. Partner with CDT counterparts (Architecture/Solution Delivery/Infrastructure & Operations/PMO) on business unit goals and objectives. Ensure that business and IS relationships are fully aligned throughout all areas of responsibility
Solution Delivery: Partner with the business to design solutions that satisfy tactical and strategic needs. Manage for multiple logistics technology teams consisting of managers, application engineers, software developers, and contract vendor resources. Support CDT operational performance, playing a leading role in problem resolution and project requests. Assist with the operational and commercial relationship management of third-party suppliers and vendors. Act as a project leader/manager, coordinating the work of internal and external resources when required. Ensure transparency around new or changing requirements and their impact. Ensure service management exceeds business expectations through defined SLAs, managing incident escalations and resolution, developing and reporting on KPIs, proactive monitoring and alerting for critical systems
Talent Management: Drive development, performance, and talent programs through the global logistics functions. Work collaboratively with Human Resources to utilize programs and tools for organizational design, training, salary administration, succession planning, performance management, and hiring. Achieve results through building strong teams.
Financial and Compliance Management: Manage departmental budget, authorize expenditures and monitor results. Responsible for timely execution of SOX controls, partners with CDT audit teams to define, streamline and automate controls where appropriate.

Global systems thinking applied to complex interaction of processes and systems

YOUHAVE
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent field. Relevant work experience in lieu of degree may be considered.
10+ years of progressively increasing IS Leadership and Management experience in a complex global environment around the following major areas in a complex supply chain environment: Distribution/warehouse management processes and systems, Warehouse Execution Systems, Warehouse Controls Systems, Transportation Management Systems, Labor Management Systems, and Distribution Reporting Solutions.
5+ years of experience in Apparel and Footwear preferred
Demonstrated strategic planning experience for both business and systems
Demonstrated successful experience in industry portfolio, program and project management, change management, process improvement, business analysis standards, tools, and methods, training and testing.
Experience with effectively leading, communicating, and managing change in a matrix organization
Demonstrated experience in managing and mentoring a team of diverse managers and business system analysts and contractors on a global scale to deliver complex and reliable solutions to a diverse set of businesses and stakeholders
Experience managing department budget and financials
Experience interfacing WMS systems with ERP, WCS, and WES systems for the purpose of ensuring seamless execution of end-to-end distribution fulfillment.
Understand key business processes and systems employed by the business
