ABOUT THE POSITION
Columbia Sportswears dynamic global supply chain consists of 4 distribution centers, 430 retail stores, 80 apparel factories and 20 footwear factories worldwide. By leveraging data analytics, we are constantly pushing to make smarter business decisions and identifying innovative ways to make Columbia Sportswears supply chain more efficient and effective to meet our consumers ever-changing needs.

Columbia Global Manufacturing brings product ideas to reality in order to connect active people with their passions. We cover everything from raw materials development, product development, fit engineering, quality, sourcing and then the Liaison Offices that manage the product manufacturing.

As the Senior Cost Analyst, you will play a key role in the successful execution of product commercialization by driving operational excellence and costing processes within the category team. Youll collaborate closely with cross-functional partners including Product Development, Merchandising, Planning, and CSC Liaison Offices to understand the operational/costing requirements of the category and facilitate alignment of calendars/deadlines across the team. Using a continuous improvement mindset, youll drive opportunities to improve and simplify current processes while creating increased efficiencies of resources. Provides product costing support as requested with a focus on the facilitation of C/O costing and costing operations.


HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Independently guide and influence Category Commercialization teams to drive product decisions that enable optimal consumer value and target cost achievement
Execute predictable, competitive, and sustainable product costs from finished good vendors to support cross category cost alignment and seasonal initiatives
Responsible for seasonal costing operations inclusive of audits, system work bench maintenance, and calendar deadlines for key costing-related activities.
Drive corrective action with Commercialization teams to close gaps in margin.
Lead proactive cost and margin communication with the Commercialization team to effectively managing new design cost to seasonal established targets and be accountable for the carry over cost of seasonless product.
Measure and analyze finish good vendors cost performance to ensure in season cost expectations are being met through exception-based reporting
Lead and partner with broader Costing, Liaison Office, Product Development teams to implement cost standards, tools, and processes that enable efficient, accurate and complete product cost.
Support Sourcing strategies to maximize benefits of macro & micro economic trends and global free trade agreements.
Share knowledge and train others both inside and outside the department as needed.
Drive collaboration, alignment, and successful execution of operational processes across the PDX category team and the CSC liaison offices. Promote and drive One Team philosophy.
Identify process improvement opportunities and drive efficiencies through effective use of resources, tools, reporting and audits. Helps correct overlap/duplication of responsibilities.

Requires an ability to read, write, and speak English, within daily activities and ability to communicate with vendors and global employees.

YOU HAVE
College degree in business, economics, apparel/textiles, manufacturing, or related experience.
8+ years of experience in apparel or other soft goods sourcing, development, costing, production, or a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of garment manufacturing including, sourcing, costing, compliance, and planning operations. Possess working knowledge of garment construction and cost drivers.
Understanding of global trade agreements and trade regulations and impact on landed costs.
Necessary Skills/tools: Microsoft Office Suite, Visual Tool creation (PowerPoint, excel charts), Excel (Filtering, Pivot Tables, V-lookup). Reporting and audit creation through Power BI or Excel.


Additional Information
Role may require 50+ hours per week, usually with 8-10 hour days. Attendance at evening/weekend meetings may be required.
Position requires occasional international travel.
