ABOUT THE POSITION
Although we're an apparel and footwear-focused company, technology is central to everything we do. Columbia Sportswears Digital Technology (CDT) group enables an IT infrastructure across four global brands, a global supply chain, and 500+ geographically dispersed stores. These teams support in-store, mobile, and data platforms to enhance customer interface and service in an ever-evolving industry.

The Sr. Director of Enterprise Architecture forges the path to innovation and high-quality, effective architecture at Columbia Sportswear Company. This role ensures that Columbia's business practices and technology decisions are informed, forward-looking, and result in a scalable, agile, reliable, and secure landscape capable of shifting as the business changes. The role is accountable for all architecture strategies and standards across all regions and brands while leading the enterprise architecture team directly. The ability to build trust, influence, and effectively communicate a clear, actionable strategy to developers, architects, team leaders, and senior leaders is critical to success in this role.

HOWYOULLMAKE A DIFFERENCE
Act as Columbia's global, strategic architectural leader, forging the path for architectural practice and achieving challenging, complex business objectives through innovative, adaptable technology solutions.
Work directly with executive and senior leadership, both functional and technical, to influence strategies with architecture intent and to enable digital capabilities.
Deliver both current and future state roadmaps to unify and guide both capability and technology investment.
Create a strong community of practice to involve, support, and guide solutions architects working on behalf of their distinct domains.
Develop actionable, consumable architectural patterns which fast-moving delivery teams will want to adopt and will use in delivering high-quality, technical solutions.
Search out and evaluate innovative opportunities to leverage new technology and practice.
Champion practices (cloud-first, DevOps, Lean development, automation, etc) which adaptive, progressive future state architecture
Provide architecture standards and processes to support an inclusive, responsive center of excellence and community of practice.
Provide architectural oversight and qualities metrics for the enterprise.
Set the pace for cultural habits of innovation, growth, and learning.
Operate with transparency, integrity, and urgency.
Plan and manage departmental budgets and forecasts.
Perform other duties as assigned.

YOUHAVE
10+ years leadership and management responsibility in architecture, technical strategy, or related areas for modern-minded, multi-region companies supporting a complex technical landscape.
Minimum of 5 years of direct leadership work experience successfully managing professional-level employees.
Bachelors degree required, Masters preferred.
Strong understanding of modern architecture practices and of the trends driving the next generation of technology and practice.
Demonstrated ability to obtain a thorough understanding of strategic business goals and craft an actionable technical strategy in support of those goals.
Capability to influence at various levels of the business, including executives, senior business leaders, and non-technical audiences.
Proven budget and cost management experience.
