The Director of Technology for prAna is responsible for the strategic development, implementation and maintenance of an iterative and ever evolving technology roadmap which encompasses data, systems, integrations and processes all to support core business operations teams. This position creates operational efficiencies through the development and maintenance of core systems, integrations and data. Highly focused on removing roadblocks for the business, this position is innovative and creative in approach and delivers best-in-class solutions for business teams to thrive. This is a highly operational position and is expected to manage multiple projects simultaneously with limited resources and budget to maximize performance and contribution.

This is a critical leadership role within the prAna organization and has a direct line reporting relationship with the VP Engagement and Commerce Technology within the Columbia Sportswear Digital Technology team (CDT). The role dual reports into the President of prAna and will be a member of the Executive team. The role will have significant interaction with the CDT at Columbia Sportswear Company.

This role develops and leads a high performing team and acts as a strategic business partner within the organization on all IT, IS and BI related matters. Key business units this position and associated team supports include Product Creation, Supply Chain & Planning, eCommerce, Retail and Wholesale.

Key Responsibilities:

Systems Integration, Development and Deployment
Develop and lead the prAna technology strategic plan and roadmap in collaboration with CDT and business partners.
Integrate prAna technology into CDT enterprise planning and solution delivery.
Achieve business goals by prioritizing technology initiatives and coordinating the evaluation, development, deployment, and management of current and future technologies.
Identify opportunities and develop business case justification for the investment of financial resources in systems and resources, including staffing, sourcing, purchasing and development.
Lead consultation with organizational stakeholders within prAna and CDT to define business and systems requirements for new or improved technology implementations, systems and enterprise data.
Manage, assess and communicate risks and opportunities associated with business and information systems change activities.
Manage projects as they relate to the development and implementation of business or information systems initiatives as they relate to prAna.
Collaborate with CDT on delivery and maintenance of shared platforms/solutions driven by either prAna or the CDT.
Ensure that system integration is done in accordance with CDT standards, patterns and practices where applicable.

Operations
Manage, monitor and ensure continuous delivery of uninterrupted quality IS services to the organization.
Provide day-to-day systems support with an understanding of the potential for weekends and holiday support.
Create and rollout operational model which allows for intake, prioritization, communication, and visibility to entire technology teams workload and deliveries.
Ensure IS system operation and data management practices adhere to defined security practices and all applicable laws and regulations: PCI, SOX, GRDP, etc.
Develop, track and manage the IS/IT annual operating and capital budgets.
Develop and maintain relationships with external IT vendors and service providers to ensure high availability, especially regarding our ERP and POS providers.
Manage, monitor and support onsite infrastructure, hardware and servers.
Manage the local desktop support team to ensure a high level of service to the business.
Work closely with CDT for exceptional delivery of project and program management, information security, and development.

Leadership
Participate as a member of the prAna Executive Team in the development of long-range strategy and implementation plans.
Create and execute annual strategic plans for all functional areas of core responsibility.
Provide vision, leadership and management for prAnas technology needs across the larger Columbia Sportswear organization.
Lead, develop and manage prAnas Information Technology and Information Systems teams.
Build and provide structured operational model which helps with planning, coordinating and overseeing all activities of department and direct reports.
Lead Technology Steering Committee providing exec and leadership teams with status on roadmap items as well as introduce new solutions in support of business acceleration.
Develop strong cross-functional and cross-company relationships creating a strong and positive perspective of prAna technology.



Required Skills and Experience:

Education and Experience
Bachelors degree in Computer Science/Information Technology/Engineering or related technical discipline is required.
10 years or more experience in IT and/or IS field required, with minimum of 5 years of successful contributions in a leadership role, preferably within the apparel or retail space.
Budget experience with managing and tracking budgets and expenses.
Experience with and understanding of strategic and business planning methods, tools and processes.
Proven experience in IS planning, organization and development.
Experience managing technical staff and remote location support and integration.

Technical Knowledge and Skills
Proven track record in leadership of system design and implementation, inclusive of Enterprise Data management, front and back office systems.
Must have solid technical skills and experience in MS SQL Server suite (SSIS, SSSAS, SSRS, Power BI) as well as ERP systems (SAP and/or Full Circle is a plus).
Knowledge and experience with direct-to-consumer business systems, both for ecommerce and brick & mortar retail.
Knowledge and experience with PCI, SOX Compliance.
Understanding of data and personal information security best practices.
