Contribute to the smooth and efficient distribution of Columbia Sportswear product by directing Maintenance Mechanics in completing daily workload. Responsible for maintenance of all equipment and facilities at the Distribution Center. Responsible for directing custodians. As our Lead Maintenance Mechanic, you can expect:
Perform and direct routine and preventive maintenance for all warehouse and office equipment to ensure proper operating conditions. Equipment includes conveyors, racking, lighting, security, forklifts, material handling equipment, fire protection and plumbing systems.
Assist Supervisor with personnel needs, including attendance, employee performance and evaluation, hiring, termination, job changes and providing initial and ongoing training for maintenance mechanics.
Maintain logs of all preventive and breakdown maintenance performed on conveyors, forklifts and fire protection systems.
Delegate tasks assigned by Maintenance Supervisor/Manager to employees for completion. Ensure that all tasks are completed in a safe, timely and correct manner. Ensure that all department and Company policies are adhered to and report any violations to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Perform functions of the department as necessary. Use hand and power tools to make repairs or fabricate parts.
Frequently lift/carry up to 40 pounds.
Maintain positive open lines of communication with all Columbia Sportswear management, staff and other departments in order to contribute to the smooth flow of information and efficient operation of the organization.
Ability to cope with a stressful work environment and cordially interact with coworkers to accomplish common tasks.
Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position.




Specific Job Skills:
Possess good working knowledge of practices regarding hazard communication, chemical usage, material safety data sheets, lock out/tag out, emergency evacuation procedures and emergency generation procedures.
Possess intermediate computer skills including use of keyboard.
Ability to read, write, and speak English. Ability to use repair equipment.
Mental ability to conduct interpersonal interactions with company personnel.
Ability to troubleshoot, solve problems, make decisions independently and with discretion, operate independently, and work effectively under pressure.
Possess good verbal communications skills.
Physical ability to climb stairs and ladders, sit and stand for extended periods of time, and regularly lift/carry up to 40 pounds.
Ability to move freely through the distribution center.
