About the job

Contribute to the smooth and efficient distribution of Columbia Sportswear product by supporting employee engagement initiatives. Execute efforts to actively engage and motivate associates by identifying specific areas and opportunities for engagement that go hand in hand with safety, quality, and productivity goals. Involved in development and continuous improvement to engagement program strategy and design. Organizes various events, partners with the Workforce Optimization team, managers, supervisors and committees to help to achieve department and team goals, and supports programs related to engagement and change management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Contribute, support, document, and continuously improve engagement and recognition programs.
Partner with temp provider and cross functional partners to create, conduct and make improvements in New Hire onboarding programs, such as Base Camp.
Facilitate employee feedback cycle structure, reporting, accountability.
Prepare and assist various employee appreciation & wellness events, education, and health challenges.
Connect with leadership and employees for regular feedback cycle.
Involvement in change management initiatives in the distribution center.
Organize volunteer team building opportunities at DC.
Partner with managers, supervisors, and employees for department and peer recognition.
Assist in succession planning and creating bench strength through support of the LEAD Program.
Be proactive in notifying leadership when opportunities for improvement are identified to drive continuous improvement.
Partner with Talent Ambassadors at job fair events.
Partner with Safety, Relentless Improvement, Employee Recognition and Community Involvement Committees on various projects, events, and initiatives.
Manage DC announcements through postings, TV monitors or other media.
Demonstrate flexibility to perform other duties as assigned.
Success metrics include improvement on turnover, retention, employee engagement survey results

REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors degree, applicable certification, OR 2-4 years equivalent experience.
One to two years of experience in a distribution center or manufacturing environment is a plus.
Effective communication, organization, and change management skills.
Ability to maintain composure, professionalism and cool under pressure to meet deadlines.
Ability to handle employee needs and concerns in a professional, discreet, and respectful manner.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize and delegate accordingly.
Ability to manage time effectively.
Attendance and punctuality are essential.
Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English language instructions.
Intermediate computer skills: Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
Positive attitude is a must.
