Position Purpose and Summary:As a Merchandiser, the person will report to Category Team Manager to Leads and direct entire product development process from receipt of specifications from home office until commercialization. He/she will anticipate problems, offer solutions and addresses issues within the development process.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Department: Merchandising department leads the business front by driving Product development, Costing, and Commercialization process activities for the South Asia region comprising of India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. Merchandising dept manages development activities between vendors and Home Office. This team develops, standardizes, and continuously improves processes related to Development, Costing and Commercialization.
Position Introduction: As a Senior Merchandiser with minimum 8 years relevant experience, you will manage the development process from the receipt of technical specifications (specs)s to commercialization for assigned products with an emphasis on quality product engineering and timely completion of all tasks, including sampling and buy ready in accordance with operational calendars. Drive the analysis and validation of vendor cost information throughout the entire creation process. Ensure compliance to agreed standards. Effectively negotiate with vendors for the best product cost to achieve the highest cost margin. Work collaboratively with Sourcing to ensure that the products are sourced at suitable vendors that meet the corporate financial expectations. Provide guidance and training to the other team members, including cross-functional internal and external partners.

Advanced knowledge of Apparel Costing
Advanced knowledge of garment construction methods and manufacturing, materials testing methods and appropriate interaction of lab results as they pertain to products
Strong knowledge of materials and functional aspects of garments
Proven ability to effectively negotiate with vendors and influence internal stakeholders
Ability to fit garment and communicate to vendors on the changes required
Ability to work under pressure and to meet strict timelines, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work extended hours, if necessary.
Advanced skills in using Microsoft tools: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
Visual acuity for analyzing samples and color
Minimum 8 years relevant experience in the Garment industry
