About the job

A Network Infra Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring and managing the local network of an organization including Tokyo office and retail stores to ensure maximum uptime for users. The role can include designing system configurations, documenting and managing the installation of a new network, and maintaining and upgrading existing systems as necessary. As part of an organizations IT team in Japan, Network Engineers work closely with Business Analysts, IT Support, Global Network Infrastructure Team.

Responsibilities:
Configure local network settings of office LAN extending to our retail stores
Set up respective communication equipment including cisco telephone devices
Construct and maintain local servers
Responsible for maintenance contracts, firmware upgrades, patching, troubleshooting, and replacement planning for old devices
Be the point of contact for the global network and Infra team for operational aspect
Manage Azure accounts (PC/user/server) and provide support in the event of a failure
Collaborate with Global network and infra teams especially on infrastructure and network related matters
In charge of network security in collaboration with global security team


Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree and above
A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Network Engineer
Intermediate Network skills
Basic understanding on TCP/IP networking with great passion and eagerness to learn more on network & infrastructure (creation / management of configuration)
A well-developed ability to speak, read, and write both Japanese and English, including writing clear and concise business communication.
Experience in creation or management of Cisco switch and router configuration (Preferable)
Experience in operation management of UTM device configuration (Preferable)
Experience in construction or operation management of Windows Server (Preferable)
Experience in retail business with stores network (Preferable)
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks and stay on calendar
Must be a team player and have a positive, flexible attitude
Must be a self-starter, proactive, curious, and creative problem solver
Communication skills
Problem solving skills
Ability to work independently and follow guidelines
Phone, use of computer hardware/software including keyboard, typing, physical ability to sit and stand for long periods of time
