ABOUT THE POSITION
Although we're an apparel and footwear-focused company, technology is central to everything we do. Columbia Sportswear’s Digital Technology (CDT) group enables an IT infrastructure and applications across four global brands, a global supply chain, and 500+ geographically dispersed stores. These teams support in-store, mobile, and data platforms to enhance customer interface and service in an ever-evolving industry.
The Configuration Engineer supports and maintains software-as-a-service (SaaS) and enterprise-wide applications. This role performs configuration, setup, and updates of the application, including table definitions and access control. The Configuration Engineer is accountable for ensuring the validity of data entered into the application. This role builds and produces reports for business management and staff. The Configuration Engineer sets up user accesses and trains users on the application. This role also gathers, documents and recommends changes in applications development, maintenance and system standards and capabilities.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
The ideal candidate can work with, and across, various people, teams, processes, and technologies to guide the organization through digital transformation to establish digital leadership. This position will work closely with Digital, IT, Product Management, Marketing, and subject matter experts throughout the organization to support and enhance Marketing technology solutions and is responsible for its results. The candidate is passionate about driving the digital commerce strategy across the organization and is innovative, enthusiastic, and organized with the ability to remove roadblocks and strong creative and technical problem-solving skills.
Essential Functions:
Work as part of the Marketing Technology team to define, build, and maintain workflows and requirements across key Marketing technology solutions to improve, operationalize and streamline processes across all Brands and Channels.
Establish guidelines for collaboration around digital marketing content collection, creation, management, syndication, and analysis
Create and manage business rules and processes to support standard work and continuous improvements
Determine and implement taxonomy, hierarchies, attributes and user privileges
Collaborate with the team to define, measure and report on KPIs to inform successful introduction and use of core digital marketing capabilities and data quality
Become an expert with enterprise marketing technologies, and assist with operational support on new and existing functionality as necessary
Develop a strong command of the digital commerce industry landscape
Works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to monitor project progress, troubleshoot issues, set customer expectations, and provide regular status reports to stakeholders
Work with product owners, business stakeholders and software engineers to define information and data needed between enterprise solutions.
Other Functions:
Ability to translate abstract concepts into defined objectives, business requirements, business processes and functional specifications and an actionable product roadmap
Ability to clarify needs and priorities of customer expectations and translate to potential technology driven solutions
Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills; excellent listening skills
Ability to effectively document and present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
Monitor day-to-day activities to maintain the heath of the platform and to fine-tune process and workflows
YOU ARE
Adept with time management and problem-solving skills
A relentless, versatile learner that is open to change and embraces experimentation to find solutions
Able to lead by example, demonstrates bias toward action, results orientated with a style conducive to teamwork
YOU HAVE
8 plus years’ experience desired in progressively responsible positions providing technical support by analyzing business processes, team project participation, and providing systems support and analysis of digital information systems.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Management, or related degree.
Experience in the Apparel/Footwear industry is desirable but not required.
Demonstrated experience in business systems analysis and support ranging from small system implementations to major systems initiatives.
Experience with project management is also a plus but not required
Experience with Marketing technologies such as Digital Asset Management, Consumer Data Platform, Membership platforms, etc.
Agile product lifecycle experience preferred as well as experience with Jira.
Strong planning and organization, priority setting, and project management skills
Strong communication skills
Understanding of how APIs work and best practices for planning APIs using use cases
Proven track record of managing cross platform digital projects with large groups of distributed stakeholders
