General Position Summary: The Data Management Engineer II is a member of the Data & Analytics (D&A) Data Management team and is responsible for development, testing, and maintenance of Data Management solutions within an Agile environment. The Data Management Engineer II is responsible for investigating, documenting, and resolving production issues, as well as implementing enhancements to business use-cases within DM systems. The Data Management Engineer II possesses problem solving skills and demonstrates an ability to work with partners throughout the organization to support CSC's vision for Data Management.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities: 
Support development, maintenance, and testing of data integrations with Data Management technologies. Follows development standards/best practices and maintains partnerships with key collaborators, including DM and D&A Teams. 

Support implementation & maintenance of Data Management tool internal workflows. Support expansion of data classification efforts. Deploy automation to improve Data Management tools & processes for all CSC users. 

Creates, updates, and maintains system documentations such as SOPs and Best Practices for all DM technologies.   

Communicates with DM and D&A team on relevant updates, enhancements, downtime, news, and recommendations. 

Performs testing (continuous, regression, acceptance, etc.) and evaluation of DM tools; communicates outcomes. 

Participate in an on-call rotation to support DM production processes and systems. Supports DM System monitoring. Troubleshoots vendor & internal support tickets. 

 
 
 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 
Capacity to learn, develop, and test Enterprise Data Catalog and Data Quality solutions 

Experience coding in one of the following languages (C# .NET, Python, Java) 

Basic understanding of SQL, relational database concepts, and the lifecycle of data 

Experience working with REST APIs 

Experience with Data Integration / ETL tools, solutions, patterns 

Experience with Data Governance solutions is a plus 

Cloud Technology, Data Management, and/or Data Quality experience is a plus 

Experience with Azure Logic Apps, Function apps is a plus 

 
Education and Experience 
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience 

2+ years professional experience in related positions working with data, integrations or databases preferred 

Experience defining and implementing Data Governance models based on industry best-practices preferred
