About the job

As a Global Supply Planner, you will be responsible for creating and communicating the global supply plan for Columbia and its affiliated brands. The supply plan dictates Columbias finished goods production schedule based on aggregated global demand requirements and capacity constraints. Successful planning will enable timely demand fulfilment and stable production flow while minimizing inventory risks. You will work closely with regional demand, global manufacturing and other cross functional partners to support strategic buy plans and enable seasonal brand strategies.

Responsibilities:
Effectively create and manage the pre-season planning and in-season execution and optimization of a wholesale finished goods seasonal buy flow plan for a specific set of vendors
Use analytical and reporting skills to identify opportunities to increase efficiencies, better communication and improve processes, and support transparency within the Global Supply Planning team and Planning as a whole
Drive high levels of planning accuracy enabling inventory reduction, improved resource utilization, product cost savings, and delivery precision
Monitor and manage supply chain constraints such as lead times, sourcing strategies, capacity, minimums, transportation, raw material minimum order quantities, buy ready, and factory allocations to optimize buy flow at finish good vendors
Communicate constraint impacts on demand fulfilments to regional partners and Supply Planning regional lead
Collaborate with key cross-functional partners to optimize process improvement and increase efficiency across the supply chain
Represent the Global Supply Planning team as the strategic contact for execution of global processes. Participate in discussions with key strategic partners across many levels of the organization
Effectively prepare and present on relevant topics to various groups, including peers, cross functional partners, and management, to elevate the position and department through the development of strategic relations and organizational awareness
Partner with Material Planning to resolve RM minimum issues and opportunities to reduce negative impacts on finished good vendors and company costs
Must utilize supply planning processes, systems and tools, incorporating professional supply planning techniques
Support corporate initiatives through engagement with key business partners and drive adoption of these initiatives across the Global Supply Planning team.

Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Business, Economics, Accounting or Supply Chain Management preferred or equivalent work experience. MBA beneficial

3-5 years experience, preferably in supply chain management, planning or logistics and mastery of relevant technical or business skills required to accomplish the job

Apparel/footwear industry experience desired. International business work experience desired
Solid knowledge of principles, concepts, and theories within supply chain and ability to assist with training and development of other team members on this knowledge
Project and process management skills
Advanced understanding of global supply chain constraints
Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a diverse group
The ability to collaborate and influence others
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
The ability to cope with ambiguity of information
Intermediate experience using Microsoft Excel to create spreadsheets, charts and pivot tables; using functions such as SumIf, vLookup and similar)
Excellent organizational and presentation skills and attention to detail required
