The Credit Manager is responsible for managing the credit and accounts receivable for Canada. Manage a department of three to oversee the collection of receivables, mitigate credit risk while ensuring that Columbia can maximize revenue.

ABOUT THE POSITION
Columbia Sportswear Finance & Accounting teams overseethefinancial health andforwardstrategy for a portfolio of four global brands. These teams exercise expertise across Compliance, Credit, Financial Planning and Reporting, Tax, Treasury, and Strategy. Advancing traditional Finance & Accounting functions, the organization is also driving exciting innovation in the application ofadvanced analytics andautomatedintelligence.

Our Canadian Credit team is looking for a Credit Manager that will manage the credit and accounts receivable for Canada. In this role, you will lead a department to oversee the collection of receivables and mitigate credit risk while ensuring that Columbia can maximize revenue.

HOWYOULLMAKE A DIFFERENCE
Serve as the company resource on Canadian Credit and Collection topics
Manage the credit and collections activities in adherence to Credit Policies
Assist with timely collections, negotiating and taking security, litigation, and bankruptcy proceedings
Continuously monitor the aging of accounts for Canadian customers to ensure adequate actions are being taken
Regularly forecast reserves and explain variances to forecast on a monthly basis
Review and process annual credit approvals to a maximum of $2M, referring accounts in excess of this limit to the Director of Credit
Establish and maintain authorization limits for Canada
Review Key Customer Partner Agreements to ensure accruals are established as per agreement and customer claims are per the agreement

YOU ARE
A problem solver, can resolve disputes and determine appropriate collection action once collection efforts are exhausted
Dynamic, able to engage customers to establish relationships
Relationship focused, able to establish and maintain close working relationship with other key departments to ensure the maximization of revenue in conjunction with risk control
Able to evaluate and determine the adequacy of the Bad Debt Reserve & Chargeback reserve recommending adjustments as required
Able to monitor industry and customer credit risk on an on-going basis
Analytical, and can analyze new credit applications, determine credit worthiness and establish lines of credit

YOUHAVE
An understanding of Canadian Retail tax laws and can monitor provincial or federal changes to ensure Columbia Sportwear adheres to their tax collection responsibilities
An understanding of Canadian Bankruptcy laws and can represent the company and/or process claims
experience, preference for credit experience selling to retailers in the footwear, apparel, or outdoor industry, strong analytical skills with an ability to interpret financial information, and proficiency in an ERP system, preferably in SAP are required.A Bachelors Degree in Business or relevant educational background

A minimum of 8 years experience in a credit environment with increasingly higher levels of responsibility including management level experience
The ability to manage, lead and motivate direct reports
