ABOUT THE POSITION
Although we're an apparel and footwear focused company, technology is central to everything we do. Columbia Sportswears Global Information Services (GIS) teams enable an IT infrastructure across four global brands, a global supply chain, and 500+ geographically dispersed stores. These teams support in-store, mobile, and data platforms to enhance customer interface and service in an ever-evolving industry.
The Delivery Engineering manager, leads and contributes with-in a team of "DevOps" Engineers and is responsible for the Azure Cloud platform and Automation. The position performs a Product Owner "light" role for the platform provided by their team. The platform provided enables developers, Data Engineers, Security Engineers, Infrastructure Engineers and similar roles to automatically deploy changes to their services using code, code repositories, pipelines, etc. The platform helps the team's stakeholders implement modern development practices such as microservices running on truly PaaS platforms and in the IaaS platform using Infrastructure as Code.

HOWYOULLMAKE A DIFFERENCE
Lead a team that primarily works in an embedded capacity to assist their stakeholders over longer duration projects or feature requests for the platform
Assign and monitor the work of technical personnel, ensuring that development and deployment is done in the best possible way, implementing testing and review systems throughout the development and deployment processes
Manage analysis and approval of new code through security and performance gates. Be an advocate for security and performance standards in the organization
Help set the direction and prioritization of features of the platform while balancing resourcing requests from stakeholders.
Provides process improvement recommendations based on best practices and industry standards
Maintains accurate program estimates, timelines, project plans, and status reports

YOU ARE
A technologist that loves being the person who interfaces between the dev team and the server maintenance/hosting team because you understand where the gaps exist between these two group
An excellent communicator that possess the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of developers, product owners, and subject matter experts
Continuously improving our environment by taking proactive steps to prevent application emergencies from ever happening
An advocate for security and performance standards in the organization
An analytical thinker with top notch problem-solving skills

YOUHAVE
Leadership and oversight experience of implementation and deployment planning, system integration, delivery, operations, and sustainability of technical solutions
A solid understanding of the operational aspects of production and development servers including developing, training in, and validating compliance with procedures and checklists related to disk space usage, monitoring solutions, deployment, conventions, access to the production and development sources, source control access and usage etc
5-7+ years of DevOps Manager or related experience with gradually increasing responsibilities and a demonstrated understanding of DevOps, artifacts and tools
Experience with Azure (primarily, but similar AWS experience), PaaS offerings such as App Services, Function Apps, Databricks, and similar resource types (or equivalent AWS resource types) and IaaS offerings as well
Experience with Deployment tools and methodologies, Continuous Integration and/or Continuous Delivery and Pipelines as part of a tool such as Azure DevOps or stand-alone like Jenkins
