ABOUT THE POSITION
The Manager of Retail leads and oversees prAnas retail performance and retail management team across 2 retail locations (Oregon and Colorado). This person is a motivator, collaborator and partner and empowers teams to perform and meet financial goals. This role is responsible for the P&L for prAna retail stores and is focused on driving traffic, conversion and sales while providing prudent payroll and expense management. This role serves as a liaison between prAna HQ and the stores, maintaining high visibility and partnership.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Lead and manage two Store Managers, and partner on execution of store operations and standards

Develop, motivate and retain high performing employees; build and retain high performing teams in conjunction with HR and Store Managers

Manage the coordination, administration and communication of retail specific programs, initiatives, projects, processes or other information

Develop productive partnership with the merchant team regarding inventory, margins, liquidation, and understanding the needs of the stores. Assist in implementing and managing the inventory levels within the stores

Communicate and drive Sustainability initiatives for prAna within our retail channel in order to align with prAna HQ; assist Store Managers in implementing HQ led sustainability programs to align with company goals

Manage retail P&L, including providing input on sales targets, KPIs and expenses, in partnership with VP. Monitor and process expenses; maintain or improve profitability

Lead the ideation, planning and execution efforts for onboarding and training programs for retail

Regularly conduct audits on training to ensure consistent practices are met; assist with hands-on training in-store and virtually


YOU ARE
A proven leader in the retail space with the strong ability to build and develop high performing teams

A collaborative leader that builds and maintains ongoing inter- and intra-departmental working relationships with several diverse personalities

Proactive, organized, and can balance competing priorities

Flexible and able to adapt to a variety of internal/external circumstances and changing priorities


YOU HAVE
Bachelors degree with a concentration in Retail, Business or related field preferred

5-8+ years of management level experience overseeing $5M+ in sales either in a high-volume location or a multi-store retail environment, with demonstrated abilities in retail operations, training and systems

Experience managing projects and timelines

In-store retail management experience highly preferred

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both in writing and speaking

Position can be based out of either prAna store locations (Portland or Boulder) or in Southern California near prAna headquarters

Ability to occasionally travel domestically to retail stores and prAna headquarters required and is estimated to be 30% to 40%
