ABOUT THE POSITION
Columbia Sportswear Companys Privacy Team supports our global privacy program operations for all brands and regions. Through our privacy program we strive to connect active people with their passions while demonstrating respect for their personal data privacy. We seek to integrate our privacy principles into the fabric of our business in ways that are designed to promote transparency, accountability, and an approach to personal data that is aligned with our core value of doing the right thing. We want to earn and increase the trust our consumers, employees, and business partners place in us, in order to support meaningful connections to our products, our working relationships and each other.
For this new position on our growing privacy team, we are looking for someone who already has a solid understanding of data and systems, ideally in an ecommerce environment, who wants to develop privacy expertise to complement those existing skills. Demonstrated analytical skills in other areas, including audit, legal, ethics and compliance, IT, or similar will be considered. Because privacy laws are developing and changing rapidly, we need someone who is comfortable learning quickly, and isn't afraid of change.

HOWYOULLMAKE A DIFFERENCE
Respond to individual data subject access requests using pre-defined templates and language, finding areas for possible improvements and automation
Analyze results of website scans and work collaboratively with ecommerce teams (analytics, development, and operations) to ensure cookie banners are functioning appropriately and configured optimally
Assist senior team members with training internal stakeholders who work with personal data of our consumers, employees, and business partners to guide their understanding of the responsibilities and requirements of Columbia's privacy program
Assist with data-mapping and performing privacy impact assessments of vendors, systems, and databases

YOU ARE
Analytical
Skilled in written and verbal communication so you can convey complex information clearly and concisely
Collaborative, adept at building cross-functional business relationships
An inquisitive self-starter
Flexible, with a sense of humor

YOUHAVE
A general understanding of how a business collects, stores and uses data in computer systems, databases, or applications with preference to online and ecommerce environments
Familiarity with what it means to work within a legal or regulatory compliance framework (e.g. HIPAA, GLBA, FCPA, GDPR and/or CCPA, PCI DSS, SOX, NIST, etc.) and the practical implications for businesses, including the use of internal policies, procedures, and training requirements that guide certain practices and behaviors while discouraging or prohibiting others
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
