ABOUT THE POSITION
Columbia Sportswears dynamic global supply chain consists of 4 distribution centers, 430 retail stores, 80 apparel factories and 20 footwear factories worldwide. We pride ourselves on being able to get products to market quickly, safely, and in the most cost-effective manner. By leveraging data analytics, we are constantly pushing to make smarter business decisions and identifying innovative ways to make Columbia Sportswears supply chain more efficient and effective to meet our consumers ever-changing needs.

As the Sr eComm Merchandise Planner, you will be a member of SOREL North American Planning team, contributing to the growth, profitability and innovation of the SOREL site. This role is based in Portland, Oregon reporting to the North America Planning Manager and partnering with management to develop, execute and communicate pre-season and in-season merchandise financial plans and strategies in support of merchandising, marketing and financial objectives for our eCommerce business. In this role you will provide strategic level consulting and partnership to Brand Leadership and eCommerce management teams.

HOW YOULL MAKE A DIFFERENCEDrive financial results to maximize sales, inventory and profitability at the style/ color level up to the department total by individual sites and categories.
Collaborate with Merchandise Managers to develop and communicate a comprehensive strategy that aligns future financial and product opportunities.
Direct the development of pre-season sales, gross margin and inventory plans that support product strategies
Review total financial plans with Planning Manager and Brand Leadership.
Analyze historical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities to business and recommend strategies to achieve financial goals; conduct hindsight analysis to incorporate learnings into current plans.
Maintain key item tracking forecasts on a monthly basis.
Recap and analyse actual sales results to plan and forecast in-season business on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
Present financial plans, forecasts and strategies in key meetings.
Manage eCommerce seasonal inventory in collaboration with wholesale side of business to reduce excess inventory risk for the brand.
Proactively report on the health of the business and facilitate smart business decisions, communicate financial results, forecasts, and action plans to managers and cross-functional team members on a weekly basis.
Work with Brand and Finance on maintaining LRP process.
Responsible for the open to buy process and forecasts.
Partnership with Brick and Mortar channel of DTC business to get a holistic view of the overall SOREL DTC business.

YOU ARE A strong communicator who can collaborate and influence others various levels, regions, and cultures
Proactive and assertive in follow-through with business leaders, colleagues, and business partners, including a high degree of self-direction
Able to provide guidance and mentorship to more junior members of the planning team when necessary
Able to multi-task, prioritize essential tasks and meet deadlines

YOU HAVE Bachelors degree in business, merchandising or related field preferred
5+ years experience working in retail/eCommerce merchandise planning, buying, or allocation
Strong analytical skills and numbers oriented, must have a vision of how merchandise should be presented or assorted
A strong understanding of retail math including intricacies of open to buy, inventory turnover and gross margin
Familiarity with merchandise management systems and retail planning software
PC proficient with working knowledge of Excel including writing formulas
