ABOUT THE POSITIONThe eCommerce team powers our US and Canada Columbia.com sites as well as our Customer Care Center. From merchandising and marketing to product management and technology, the consumer is at the center of everything we do. And, the eCommerce team is known for the relentless improvement of the customer experience-always striving for a better, faster, easier experience.

The eCommerce Technology team is looking for a Sr. Quality Engineer to focus on developing the approach, framework, and test suite management for automated and manual testing within the eCommerce department. In this role, you will be responsible for understanding and identifying system configurations required to support successful deployments. Lastly, this position will work with the Project Managers, Product Owners, Developers, DevOps Engineers, and QA team to ensure all technologies are working as designed and tested across operating systems, browsers, and form factors.

HOWYOULLMAKE A DIFFERENCEDesign, maintain and execute manual and automated test cases for GUI, functional, API, performance and end-to-end tests of eCommerce sites across form factors.

Partner within the engineering team to build out continuous integration environments and test harnesses for cross-browser/cross-operating system testing framework.

Develop and run test scenarios and test scripts and perform functional testing of code changes and production updates across various browsers for all websites.

Develop test automation strategies and implementation plans using Selenium or similar tools. (e.g. TestCafe, Nightwatch.js)

Ability to mentor QA team and engineering team on benefits of testing methodologies and QA rigor.

Ensure comprehensive end-to-end coverage of automated regression test suites.

Report defects clearly in the JIRA defect tracking system


YOU AREWell-versed in browsers, operating systems, and mobile form factors.

Knowledgeable in web programming skills (JavaScript, CSS, XML, JSON).

Passionate about QA with the ability to evangelize the QA philosophy across the eCommerce business unit.

Able to work collaboratively within cross-functional and distributed teams based on strong team spirit, solid work ethic, and good communication skills.


YOUHAVEBachelors Degree (preferably in Computer Science, Informatics, or Engineering) or equivalent experience.

5+ years of Quality Assurance testing experience with web environments and at least 3 years as a QA engineer focused on automation testing frameworks; 2+ years experience working with continuous integration servers such as Jenkins or CircleCI.

Proven experience planning, developing or collaborating on test automation frameworks and test suites.

Ability to write test automation using Selenium, TestCafe, or Nightwatch.js.

Experience with Git, Git Flow, pull requests, and other DVCS concepts.
