ABOUT THE POSITION
The Sales Analyst is responsible for wide-ranging reporting and analytics inclusive of weekly, monthly, seasonally and yearly business review reporting with a focus on strategic and/or key accounts, sell-through analytics, demand creation, and making informed suggestions for how to increase sales and improve company profitability. This role will ensure all information and analytics are communicated for the successful achievement of business and sales plans.
This role will engage the sales team and proactively provide information to the internal and field sales organizations to support client-related issues and drive strategic account planning, and internal support to the organization by means of reporting and analysis. The position will work cross-functionally with Sales Leadership, field Sales Representatives, Sales Operations, Inventory Planning, Finance, Product Design and Development teams, and IT/BI. This role will also interact with CSC and present findings and action proposals to specified strategic and/or key accounts.
HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Demand Creation & Sell-Through Focus
Collect and analyze large amounts of internal & external data to communicate Channel, Retailer, and Product performance
Collaborate with Sales Managers & Field Sales Reps on strategic account focused opportunity and risk assessments
Utilize PowerBI to develop & maintain refreshable reporting methods that are efficient to update and derive analysis from
Develop and track seasonal targets for Sales Channels, retailers & product initiatives
Present Pre-Season bookings analysis to leadership & cross-functional partners
Collaborate with Analytics Lead in monthly Performance meetings to leadership & cross-functional partners to explain sales trends, new marketing strategies, and analysis findings
Competitive market research: Report on product & consumer trends, key demographics & potential risk/opportunity
Provide analysis to Sales Managers & field representatives in pre-season assortment creation and at-once demand based on sales history, retailer inventory & sell-thru trends
Partner with Columbia Sales Analytics team on new methods, analytical findings & report evolution
Forecasting, Business Planning, Reporting
Aid Sales Managers in pre-season & monthly account-based forecasting
Collaborate with Lead Analyst to aggregate and prepare forecasts for leadership/CSC presentations
Develop Seasonal Sales Rep target template and tracking for incentives
Deliver bi-weekly shipping updates to field rep agencies with key summary points
Support seasonal inventory build forecasts by developing seasonal style-level forecast tools with Field Rep
Aid in Sales Ops monthly forecasting process ensuring year goals are met
Continually update & evolve BI reporting to support the changing needs of Managers & field Sales Representatives
Point person for pre-season reporting to Sales Managers & field rep agencies
Support team in preparation for seasonal sales meetings, frequent account meetings
Utilize Power BI, SPS, NPD, prAna SQL Analysis server (CUBE), prAna BI Center to advance departmental business intelligence
Develop & evolve new tools in Power BI, SPS & Excel catering to swift shifts in a retail environment
Inventory Demand Planning
Develop projection tools to aid in inventory/demand analysis for the at-once period, replenishment & retailer chase opportunity
Key liaison with the Planning Department and Sales Operations to facilitate consistent communication of product delivery, timing & risk mitigation for open orders
YOU HAVE
3-5 years of experience in a wholesale environment, apparel buying, planning, forecasting, inventory analysis or management preferred
3-5 years of experience working with sales, or a closely related field with proven experience in creating and maintaining reports and spreadsheets
Possess knowledge of Apparel: outdoor, active, sports fashion, lifestyle and/or swim markets preferred
High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelors degree in relevant field preferred (Business Administration, Finance or Accounting)
Expert skills in MS Excel, proficient in MS Office suite
Experience with Power BI, Full Circle, EDI and CRM platform beneficial
SPS, NPD experience preferred
Retail Math proficiency
