ABOUT THE POSITION
Manage development of new footwear from initial concept to sales samples for assigned models. Emphasis on delivering samples projects according to predetermined timelines. Keep informed of and evaluate competitive developments with an eye towards improving the competitiveness of Columbias footwear.

HOWYOULLMAKE A DIFFERENCE
Participate in cross-functional team meetings on how creation team and costing can meet margin targets.
Working with factory partners and key vendors in converting initial design renderings into successful, manufacturable, profitable also commercialized product.
Reviews blue prints, 3Ds and wooden models with supporting from Product Development Manager and LO Columbia PEM to ensure accuracy, functionality of mold details and design integrity.
Be prepared to take on other project or brand-related duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Demonstrate an awareness of and engage in all phases of the Columbia product process which ensures that projects are approved, tested, completed and delivered on-time, are manufacturable, meet design intent, performance, costing and sustainability goals.
Manage prototyping and sampling across designated partner bases and advise on any performance shortcoming and timing issue by these factory partners and provide the improvement plans;
Maintain current files on all assigned models. Files should include sample request forms, last specification data, specifications and notice of changes, confirmed tooling drawings, key feature & process maps and all other related information important.

YOU ARE
A clear communicator with countries where English is a second language. Use considerable tact, sound judgment, and discretion in all contacts. Identify/evaluate problem areas and recommend effective solutions.
Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with management, staff, factories and vendors.

YOUHAVE
Thorough knowledge of administrative management and supervisory techniques, PC software (i.e., spreadsheets, databases, and word-processing)
Experience in outdoor footwear industry, and conducting business in Asian countries.
Effectively supervise staff, assessing performance and supporting professional development. Use exceptional time management skills to accomplish challenging objectives and manage heavy workload. Understand basic engineering, metric measurements, and blueprints.
