ABOUT THE POSITION

Through close interaction with the Product Creation Teams and Global Liaison Office partners, the Senior Materials Research Analyst will manage the development of seasonal materials from concept to commercialization within established timelines as well as collaborate with the Product Creation Team in the establishment, validation, commercialization, and execution of product platforms. This position will be responsible for leading and cascading the Mountain Hardwear mission of To inspire everyone to go into the mountains to discover what they are capable of and responsibly experience the awe of nature through coaching, execution, and accountability.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Collaborate with Global Liaison Offices in regard to supplier placement, specific performance, aesthetic, and testing needs as well as offer technical guidance during the development process and bulk.

Interface with the Sourcing/Costing Department to ensure costs are analyzed and intelligently negotiated to the best possible price based on current market conditions.

Partner with the Quality Assurance team to lead risk assessment on relative materials and with Liaison Offices to develop action plans to ensure best-in-class quality.

Be an active participant of the Manufacturing Group and facilitate the timely development and commercialization of the seasonal product category.

Stay abreast of new technologies in the textile market and always pursue innovation.

Transition innovative material platforms from adoption to full commercialization through cross-functional collaboration.

Work with Testing labs to conduct technical research in relation to materials performance improvements.


YOU HAVE
Bachelors degree in textiles, apparel manufacturing, and/or 5-8 years or more experience in materials development/materials laboratory, sourcing, or related field.

Must have comprehensive knowledge of textiles, familiarity with textile construction methods and manufacturing, materials testing, and appropriate interpretation of lab results pertaining to products.

Possess strong working knowledge of materials and functional aspects of garments and equipment (Tents/Backpacks).


YOU ARE
Able to lead group discussions/meetings, work under pressure and to meet strict timelines, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work extended hours if necessary.

Possess strong written and verbal communication skills to deal with various levels of management and employees within the organization and vendors and global personnel.

Able to motivate individuals involved in the development process.

Physically able to travel globally on commercial transportation

Visual acuity for analyzing samples and color; sitting, standing, bending, lifting to 50 pounds, and finger dexterity.
