The position is based in Chittagong, Bangladesh and reports to LO Director, South Asia who is based in Bangalore, India.Directs and manages Bangladesh office team in collaboration with India LO and Corporate stakeholders to meet CSC goals. Provide leadership and manage all aspects of business operations including production management, vendor management, collaborate with QA/QC team, RM Team and support functions such as HR/Admin, Accounting and Logistics to ensure the office is meeting the requirements and expectations of the business. Ensure compliance of corporate governance and local legislations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy: collaborates with LO Director to develop the garment and material source base, based on CSC Global source strategy. Provide leadership to both operations team and with the factories in Bangladesh. Work with LOD and other stake holders to create a sustainable sourcing and people strategy for Bangladesh. Come up with a effective road map for implementing the same.
Operations Management: Manages the seasonal production process to ensure delivery dates are met. Worked with the factories to resolve capacity, lead-time and delivery issues. Ensure
communication of delivery/capacity problems to India office and global planning team. Work with material manager on localisation strategy and develop/monitor local material delivery to FGVs in the region.
Be the face of Columbia and other brands of Columbia like MHW, prAna in Bangladesh and elevate the brand perception within the industry and source base. Epitomize the Columbia values both within office and outside.
Directs and monitors local team to ensure data integrity and ongoing data management in Columbia delivery tracking systems i.e. JDE, PPT, SAP capacity management tools.
Collaborates with the Area QA Manager and the factory to ensure on-time Quality Audits at vendors drive timely resolution to quality issues and roll out new Quality initiatives as required.
Work with the Merchandising support and Materials support executives in Bangladesh to ensure product commercialisation goals and MR goals are met. Provide adequate support to the team to ensure the factories and RMVs meet business expectations.
People Development :
Create vision, mission for Bangladesh and a country. Set clear goals and objectives for Regional Office team to align with India LO and CSC strategic direction. Provides ongoing coaching, training and development of staff in Bangladesh office in close coordination with Regional HR and LOD; works with Functional Managers, HR and LO Director to create objective performance evaluations and succession plans.
Work with LO Director on budgets, Strategy Development and other HR related issues for Bangladesh office. Ensures compliance with the office budget in conjunction with HR/Finance Manager. Manages non-performance in compliance with CSC policies.
Create an environment of trust and reliability. Build Columbia culture of inclusiveness and set high standards for code of conduct with factories and staff. Constantly strive for developing thought leadership at all levels and build synergies within Bangladesh office and with India office.
Financial Management: Come up with Bangladesh budget on an annual basis in consultation with India LOD and Finance manager. Manage the operational budget effectively and efficiently to make sure that operational goals and people goals are met.
Minimum Educational/Experience Requirements:
University degree preferred in Business, Management or related field.
Minimum 15 20 years apparel manufacturing experience of which 10 years in Management experience
