ABOUT THE POSITION
Our Distribution Centers utilize state-of-the-art technology and a dedicated team to provide Columbia Sportswear Company a competitive advantage in distribution. Teams are responsible for shipping 40 million units of apparel, footwear, and equipment annually within the family of brands. Accurate order fulfillment and on-time shipments are the hallmarks of our facility.

The Director, Distribution center is fully accountable for the strategic decisions, day-to-day management and total performance of one or more facilities in our global finished goods distribution and fulfillment network. This person is expected to collaborate strongly and communicate effectively with key business partners and direct reports, providing the thought partnership and leadership that enables a large staff to respond to shifting priorities and meet commitments to wholesale customers, branded retail stores, and e-commerce direct-to-consumer shipments. Additionally, establish practices and management mindsets that create an engaged culture of inclusion and workforce productivity.

HOW YOULL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Holistically oversee the success of the operation, maintaining influential relationships with all key internal stakeholders within the building(s) and throughout the company to achieve measurable results
Actively monitor and proactively report out key performance indicators
Overall site management with ultimate accountability for production, staffing, budgets, long-term planning, maintenance, security, and safety
Guide, coach, develop management team to be equipped to make sound decisions that help the team meet daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly receiving, processing, and shipping goals (dollars and units)
Guide, coach, develop management and support teams to establish a culture of honesty, integrity, and respect consistent with Columbias goal for inclusion and positive work environment
Share responsibility with other on-site teams for safety of all employees, inventory management, technology solutions, engineering evaluations and implementations, human resources programs and employee engagement.
Develop and recommend annual operating budget, monitor all types of expenses, and determine appropriate adjustments as needed to meet goals
Evaluate industry best practices and innovations
Perform other related duties as assigned

YOU HAVE
Bachelors Degree or equivalent relevant business experience
8+ years experience managing through several other managers in a DC environment in order to execute critical functional strategy
Prefer experience in automated distribution center environment
Addressed situations that impact critical deadlines and deliverables
Proven success in getting the best out of people and professional partnerships
Understand industry and future challenges, provide strategic insights/solutions to more senior leaders
Operate professionally, ethically and cooperatively as a member of a highly diverse and collaborative staff
Skilled interpersonal savvy with individuals at all job levels includes excellent verbal and written communication, coaching techniques, and thought partnership
Proficient use of common computer software, such as Microsoft Outlook and Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word at minimum)
