ABOUT THE POSITION

As an Apparel Product Line Merchant Manager you will work with the Sr. Product Line/Market Merchant to establish the vision, strategies, and seasonal concepts for a portion of the global apparel business. You'll be responsible for introducing innovative, profitable, new products that will entice our target consumer within key accounts. Youll be responsible for identifying long-term trends and opportunities based on analysis of the product, consumer, and competitive trends in the market. You will work with the Product Line Managers to identify merchandised assortments for a field of play. The initiatives of these accounts will align with the seasonal initiatives and line plans. Working with the Product Merchants, you will construct long-term business plans for key accounts and drive to achieve these plans. You will utilize market knowledge and incorporate key account insights to provide clear product direction to the Global Product Line Management teams and work cross-functionally with the product creation team to develop product lines, meet key dates, and achieve net sales, net margin, and corporate objectives.

The focus of the Apparel PLM is to meet the unique apparel needs of the outdoor apparel consumer. Through insight and in-depth knowledge of the industry and the consumer, this position will drive the field of play assortments for key accounts to identify long-range growth opportunities.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Create and present seasonal assortment proposals to comp account growth and support fields of play. Incorporate marketplace influences and consumer insights.

Seek input from Design, Development, Sales, and Dealers. Ensure that briefs assortments are developed merchandised in accordance with the brand, department, and category strategies

Act as merchandise leader and develop a collaborative working environment among product creation teams. Resolve process issues and recommend ways to continually improve the interaction of team members as well as process efficiencies

Present category strategy, prototype concepts, designs, and the product to key retailers, seasonal adoption meetings, and senior management in order to develop new product line offerings.

Help define and prepare sales tools and communication materials for the category

Manage GTM process for key accounts to ensure pre-lines are achieved and feedback communicated with the Product Line Managers and products meet the needs of the customer base.

Ensure seamless interaction to deliver a product line that is designed, developed, and manufactured to meet product requirements, market needs, margin goals, and calendar timelines

Ensure the accuracy of the style and product line information in the PDM system throughout the creation process

Set Key Account merchandise strategy for growth

Determine consumer strategy to support fields of play

Build multi-year plans for key account product execution and fulfillment in markets

Responsible for determining competitive set and overarching trends/market changes


YOU ARE
Able to lead group discussions/meetings, work under pressure and to meet strict timelines, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work extended hours if necessary

Possess strong written and verbal communication skills to deal with various levels of management and employees within the organization and vendors and global personnel


YOU HAVE
5-8 years or more experience in Merchandising or Product Line Management

Buying experience preferred
